Came back to this small bistrot and love the food that is so fresh, so organic, so refreshing. If you want French Fries and Moules, please go somewhere else: moules don't grow in this region and are bought in bulk in Costco-like places at all other restaurants on the Cote. This is so nice to find a cute place that... More

We are a family of seven and we're extremely disappointed with the meal. The menu is very limited, service slow and confused and the food was awful. Cannot understand where the ratings came from.

This is a very small restaurant, staff are friendly. However this is not fine dining but an interesting experience. We tried 2 different wines; Papillion red which is organic, no sulphites and is a little cloudy, taste is lovely and Brutal which was decanted and perfectly clear, fabulous taste and flavours. I have given 4 stars however I am being... More

Everything from the food to the wine to the beer is organic. It's not haute cuisine, but it's always a good meal, and I've never been disappointed. Don't be scared off if it looks empty as there's a second room upstairs that is cosier and where everybody probably is.

Disappointing experience at L'Escale - had wanted to try it as the menu read well and was different - welcome is good, upstairs is a nice cosy room and on a very wet night the fire was a welcome feature. Friendly service had us off to a good start but sadly the food was disappointing - two beetroot salads and... More

We were only looking for a main course this particular evening and were very impressed by the meals served. The waiter explained that they source all their food locally and certainly my duck was very nice and well cooked. My wife had an interesting dish of pork and snails on a skewer and covered in breadcrumbs. The snails were a... More

The restaurant is small and looks friendly, however the food is terrible for lack of a better word. The menu is very, very limited and tastes bland. An expensive place to eat very bad food. Unfortunately none of us have anything nice to say about this place. To Be honest L'escale should probably rank last on trip advisor as we... More

Perhaps I shouldn't write this review as we did not stay to eat, but the menu is very limited (only 4 main courses of which one was vegetarian lasagne and the other snails) leaving no real choice for our family. We apologised and left but the waiter made snide comments about English children liking nothing but chips (in French presumably... More

Fell upon this restaurant while searching the street of Valbonne. Had seen the reviews on Tripdvisors, and read well. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly but unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. We were reminded several times that the food is fresh and only local producers are used - which I thought was a... More
