Excellent meal, superb ambience, super service and great value. Just a beautiful evening! Situated in a lovely area - busy but not intrusive. Everyone around us appeared to love their meal and all we heard was compliments. Juliette herself was the essence of professionalism and...her team was equally friendly, helpful and attentive.More

My boyfriend and I went to have our anniversary dinner, as we saw this place a couple of times and thought it was cute of our special night. We arrived 21.35, we ordered, when I've asked the Ower to take us a photo she said..."ask the waiter" bare in mind that she serves as well... The food was ok, nothing special. We ate in so many better places than this one in Nice for even less price. The thing was that for the 25 minutes of us sitting there, they were constantly moving things around us, smadjng things, checking on us (coming to stare at us every 5 minutes) till they asked us to leave. When I've mentioned how uncomfortable we felt the answer was "it's tge end of the week for us" it was also our special dinner and if they didn't feel to serve us or work, they could have said that they were closing and we were happily go somewhere else, as Nice had lots of options. I think that is the one place of Nice that I've been to, that I will definitely not recommend. Extremely poor service and awful experience.More

Would like to rate this place above average but the discrepancy between the dishes brings the rating down. As the menu says this place serves ‘proper food’ which takes time and they do serve some amazing stand out dishes.10/10 for a lovely cheese and fig...starter, also a beautiful grilled sole, tasty duck breast with pear and honey. Disappointments; 2 of the 4 rosé wines unavailable, the courgette flower beignet starter not a patch on other restaurants efforts. Very disappointing desserts. Synthetic tasting ice cream, squirty cream and a cold pear with cold chocolate sauce on. Bleurgh yuck. Would have appreciated more service, offering to suggest wines that go with our food, checking whether everything was ok, seeing as we left our desserts mainly unfinished but nothing said. Feel sad as I love the starters/mains so much here... maybe give it a try again or maybe not - there are so many restaurants in Nice!More

Of all the countries and all the cities we have traveled; from wonderful Parisian restaurants, luxury island resorts, London fish & chips, to a raw herring stand in Scheveningen; the service received, relatively speaking, was our worst. It was laughable. The waitress/owner is better suited...working the counter at a NYC McDonalds. The food...meh.More

Very very busy- that seemed a good sign however it only appears busy because the wait time is so unacceptable and slow! The food, coq au vin, was very nice. Hot plates, average portions, but my goodness the wait time for one course! The table...next to us was forgotten completely, we had ordered, eaten, paid and left and they still had not had their meals. More wait staff? More kitchen staff? Who knows - but the service lets down what could be a very nice venue.More

Very touristy. Not a French person in sight. Service was perfunctory but fine. Bread topped up in the wait for starters. Very large portion of nice bruschetta (but no Roquefort as stated). Camembert salad was camembert in filo pastry on toast and rather heavy. I...think it would have helped to see the French version of the menu for more detail but we were not given an option. Duck and pork mains were OK. Prices average for Old Town. You won't go home hungry but neither was it particularly exciting.More

We were able to be seated right away at the last available table. The service is a bit slow as there was only 2 servers on the patio, but they were doing their best. Thru could probably use another server during peak times. The item...we requested from the menu was sold out so we had to scramble to pick something else. I ordered the cooked goat cheese salad which was great. Overall a nice experienceMore

Saw lots of people sitting outside on our first trip to Nice - figured lots of people meant good food! Just don't order the duck - it was tough and not tender.....served w/ french fries which was bit odd. My penne dish w/ fresh veggies...and parm was OUTSTANDING! Never saw the waitress until the time for our bill - which we had to flag down. They could use more help! If you're in a hurry - better go somewhere else! Prices were decent for dinner - the beef dishes looked fab....We had dinner for 2 for only 40 Euros......they had a nice 3 course price fixed menu for only about $23 euros per person - which was a great price. Right in the heart of a busy street but it was nice to have entertainment from the restaurant across the way!More

Nice restaurant, beautiful location and excellent atmosphere but DREADFULLY long waiting times. We had to wait for 20 minutes just to be seated; it took them at least half an hour to bring us some bread and the wine; another half hour for the entrées;...and then another hour for the main course!!!! The onion soup was mediocre, the main courses (filet mignon de porc and filet de boeuf) were well-cooked but rather lacking in flavour and their house wine left much to be desired. The dishes were fairly reasonably priced (early September). Overall, not sure it was well worth the wait...More
