Oliviera has for many years and still is our favourite restaurant in Nice. This time we visited twice for lunch on a Tuesday and Thursday. We had five of the courses on the august menu, among other the signature course "Aubergine Oliviera" and all were...excellent. Please remember to make a reservation, to bring cash and that Oliviera is a slow food restaurant.More

This was not our first time at this restaurant that I would categorize as a very very nice Florentine place. Good food, decent wines by the glass, excellent service as a rule, it this visit was a grand disappointment andbsuchbthatbibeill probably not go back again.

I was recommended to visit this small, quaint restaurant by some acquaintances. Several points to mention- the owner is a “character”- funny, very informal and with a small restaurant, he knows everything. But be aware, it is extremely slow service and my wife and I...were not enthralled with the food. It was okay but not as good as our friends led us to believe or what reviewers mentioned. We mentioned we were also interested in purchasing some olive oil at the time we ordered our food as the owner sells 10+ varieties. So, he gave us some very fresh bread with a sample which was good but then when our meal arrived he immediately put different olive oils on our food. He put a very bitter olive oil on my wife’s pesto tagliatelle which ruined the taste for her. The owner put a different olive oil on my ravioli which added nothing to the dish. Again, he did this without asking or asking what flavors we liked. As mentioned, service was extremely slow. He is the only sever and I know that makes things difficult but it is over the top slow. Lastly, there is no mention on the menu that he only takes cash or check for payment. We found other restaurants in Nice with much better food and service.More

My wife and I had lunch here on a Wednesday in February. We were strolling around the old town of Nice and happened upon this wonderful restaurant and olive oil store. The owner spoke perfect English but as soon as we spoke in French, he...asked which language we preferred. He was the chef as well as chief olive oil salesman. He was happy to tell us as much as we wanted to know about the various olive oils as well as the various dishes on the menu. He was a perfect host. The interior of the restaurant is casual but charming. The menu changes but has clearly labeled vegetarian and meat dishes. We split two dishes. We started with Aubergine Oliviera. It was chopped eggplant, cheese, olive oil and other delights that was served with slightly roasted red peppers in olive oil and could be put on some of the fabulous warm baguette that was on the table. Next we had the Lasagne Butternut. I have never had such perfect lasagne. The pasta was great. In addition to the small cubes of butternut squash, there were cranberries, spinach, cheese. Notwithstanding the ingredients it was light and you could taste and savor each flavor. We had a total of three glasses of wine and coffees at the end. The total including tip was 70 euros. A great price for such a wonderful meal and experience.More

Some of the best food in the whole city, Nadim is an excellent host, with his wife an excellent cook. You get to taste different olive oils while waiting for your food, with extra oil for your food, as well as background info about the...different oils. An absolute recommendation! We go here every time we are in Nice.More

On our final day in Nice we decided to have lunch at this small restaurant. Although we arrived only one hour after they opened some of the dishes were already ‘sold out’ so take that into consideration.. Furthermore you should be very specific about your...order or you’ll end ut with a Ravioli without any sauce (?). The Ravioli itself was really good though!! Do make sure you have the time when you go here. The service is rather slow all the way from receiving the drinks until finally getting the bill. Drinks are tasty but costly as well (small glass of lemonade is €5)More

The owner is super friendly, informative and enthusiastic about his produce, which is quite good but we had to seat for 2 whole hours for just a main course and coffee. It's a 2 persons only operation (the woman in the tiny kitchen and the...man in the room). However, it's a very small restaurant - only a dozen patrons- and most of the dishes can be baked or stewed in advance, so I don't understand why we gad to wait so long. But the food was very good.More

Best place I've eaten since being in France, and that's saying something! Oliveira is situated in the heart of the old quarter. The food is seasonal, fresh and beautifully presented and you can see the chef preparing everything behind the counter. The ambiance is charismatic,...warm and familial with the owner taking the time to talk through the highlights of the days menu, and generously sampling the various olive oils on sale. All of the food was amazing. Our favourites being the aubergine starter, the rabbit stew, the caneloni and the twist on the beef tartare . I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to come back.More

Went here with one of my domestic staff to bring her out for a treat. What a treat! Regine has to be one of the best chefs in Nice and is assisted by her trainee waiter Nadim. The food was as good as ever. All...accompanied with top quality wine and olive oil. We bought one of the olive oils to take away. It will remind us of Regine and Nadim whenever we use it. Overall an outstanding meal. We highly recommend this restaurant.More

Loved this small restaurant in the heart of vielle Nice. The owner is clearly passionate about olive oils and delights in sharing his finds with his guests, alongside a homemade menu of his family favorites (including his mother’s recipes). He accompanies each dish with a...distinct olive oil and explains the nature of the oil AND the people who produce it. It is obvious that his love of oil is closely tied to his love of the producers and takes great pains to highlight the products that are locally produced in small batches. Every dish was wonderful but I particularly loved the vegetable lasagna, which was so well balanced that I could taste each fresh ingredient, instead of being completely obfuscated by mounds of cheese as so many other interpretations are.More
