It’s finding gems like this that elevate our trip to another level. The owner of Oliviera is passionate about Olive oils. The dishes are prepared by his own family and each one served with a different olive oil. Our meal was not only delicious, it was educational.
P.S. When we said we were from Melbourne, he mentioned that Luke Nguyen featured him in one of his episodes in France. 😘

Went here for lunch with high expectations after lockdown. Nadim and Regine are very welcoming and make you feel at home. We shared a starter of Dolmas de Blettes, and for main course had Ablama et Stoemp and Lapin sur Pates. While we waited for our starter we had bread with Frantoio olive oil. The Ablama was seved with a drizzle of Fruite Noir. The food was incredible and exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of delicious Corbiere red wine, which was inexpensively priced. What an experience! We are already planning our next visit.

Another restaurant we came to based on a recommendation. Unfortunately we’d just missed the lunch time service so we booked for the evening. Arrived early and we were greeted with a warm welcome by the owner who proceeded to explain that his passion and main business was selling olive oil and went on to elaborate how this fit into his wonderfully diverse menu. Before ordering we got to try several different olive oils with bread which was really nice. We ordered a mozzarella salad and the hummus both delicious and very filling. A really nice little restaurant here in Nice and the owners were both so charming. Definitely recommend!
The only thing that spoilt the experience for us was that we were sat next to a frightful American couple who continuously asked the owner annoying loud questions (like ’why aren’t there onions in the salad?’ And checking that there shared dish meant they only got charged once not twice!) I seriously had to bite my tongue. But that wasn’t the owners fault or anything he could control. If anything as we left he gave us an apologetic smile. Poor man...there’s always one!

Loved this small restaurant in the heart of vielle Nice. The owner is clearly passionate about olive oils and delights in sharing his finds with his guests, alongside a homemade menu of his family favorites (including his mother’s recipes). He accompanies each dish with a distinct olive oil and explains the nature of the oil AND the people who produce it. It is obvious that his love of oil is closely tied to his love of the producers and takes great pains to highlight the products that are locally produced in small batches. Every dish was wonderful but I particularly loved the vegetable lasagna, which was so well balanced that I could taste each fresh ingredient, instead of being completely obfuscated by mounds of cheese as so many other interpretations are.

On our final day in Nice we decided to have lunch at this small restaurant. Although we arrived only one hour after they opened some of the dishes were already ‘sold out’ so take that into consideration.. Furthermore you should be very specific about your order or you’ll end ut with a Ravioli without any sauce (?). The Ravioli itself was really good though!! Do make sure you have the time when you go here. The service is rather slow all the way from receiving the drinks until finally getting the bill. Drinks are tasty but costly as well (small glass of lemonade is €5)

We always visit this gem of a restaurant when we are in Nice. It is more an olive oil shop than a restaurant. And the menu is limited. But the food is wonderful. The salads are fresh and flavorful and the main courses are designed to showcase the shops excellent selection of olive oils. It’s a bit more expensive than the run of the mill tourist restaurants but the quality can’t be matched. It’s well worth the few additional Euros. Reservations weren’t needed this time on account of Corona, but usually it makes sense to book a day in advance. Bring cash because they don’t accept cards.

The owner is super friendly, informative and enthusiastic about his produce, which is quite good but we had to seat for 2 whole hours for just a main course and coffee. It's a 2 persons only operation (the woman in the tiny kitchen and the man in the room). However, it's a very small restaurant - only a dozen patrons- and most of the dishes can be baked or stewed in advance, so I don't understand why we gad to wait so long. But the food was very good.

Some of the best food in the whole city, Nadim is an excellent host, with his wife an excellent cook. You get to taste different olive oils while waiting for your food, with extra oil for your food, as well as background info about the different oils. An absolute recommendation! We go here every time we are in Nice.

My wife and I had lunch here on a Wednesday in February. We were strolling around the old town of Nice and happened upon this wonderful restaurant and olive oil store. The owner spoke perfect English but as soon as we spoke in French, he asked which language we preferred. He was the chef as well as chief olive oil salesman. He was happy to tell us as much as we wanted to know about the various olive oils as well as the various dishes on the menu. He was a perfect host. The interior of the restaurant is casual but charming. The menu changes but has clearly labeled vegetarian and meat dishes. We split two dishes. We started with Aubergine Oliviera. It was chopped eggplant, cheese, olive oil and other delights that was served with slightly roasted red peppers in olive oil and could be put on some of the fabulous warm baguette that was on the table. Next we had the Lasagne Butternut. I have never had such perfect lasagne. The pasta was great. In addition to the small cubes of butternut squash, there were cranberries, spinach, cheese. Notwithstanding the ingredients it was light and you could taste and savor each flavor. We had a total of three glasses of wine and coffees at the end. The total including tip was 70 euros. A great price for such a wonderful meal and experience.

If you’re after a typical French rustic meal in a restaurant run by a friendly owner look no further. Situated in Nice Old Town, this place also prides itself for its famous olive oil sourced from the region of Provence. Do not be deceived by the small operation (2-person show), the owner Nadim still has time to have a chat with every customer. The food is marvellous and non pretentious. Couple with a decent selection of wine plus some chin wagging, the evening is bound to be memorable. My family and I look forward to another evening at Oliviera when we’re next in Nice.

Based on previous comments, we had lunch at "Oliviera" during our stay in Nice and we were moderately satisfied.
The positive points, first of all: the dishes, made with fresh produce, are tasty and well "sold" by Nadim, the boss, who provides all the necessary explanations on their composition.
The big negative point lies in the fact that the bill is too "salty" compared to what is served. We paid more than 80 euros for 2 starters, 2 main courses (which were nothing exceptional), 2 glasses of rosé and 2 coffees... Furthermore, the owner wants to take his time but, at the same time, takes, that of the customer. After 2.5 hours spent at the table, we skipped dessert (after asking for the bill 3 times...) to still be able to enjoy our afternoon! The reputation of this restaurant, although decent, is perhaps a little overrated...

We happened upon this gem very hungry while wondering the back streets without a lunch plan. Our luck turned into one of the best meals during the trip. Don’t let the proprietor’s “we’re just an olive oil shop” fool you that the food will be parse! My group was well fed and had one delicious option after the other. The atmosphere is light and turns an olive oil education into a seriously fun afternoon. While the food is delicious, the olive oil is the main course and simply outstanding. Very much recommend and look forward to returning.

Best place I've eaten since being in France, and that's saying something!
Oliveira is situated in the heart of the old quarter. The food is seasonal, fresh and beautifully presented and you can see the chef preparing everything behind the counter. The ambiance is charismatic, warm and familial with the owner taking the time to talk through the highlights of the days menu, and generously sampling the various olive oils on sale.
All of the food was amazing. Our favourites being the aubergine starter, the rabbit stew, the caneloni and the twist on the beef tartare . I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to come back.

It was by chance yesterday lunchtime that we found this gem in the heart of Old Nice.
First of all, the welcome from the manager: his smile, his energy and his kindness immediately pleased us. The restaurant is not big but everything exudes authenticity, the decor, the tastefully found flea markets (its folkloric toilets are worth a look ;-)
The cuisine: a treat, the menu is not large, which is a guarantee of fresh produce; everything is homemade. The chef then detailed the dishes for us one by one, as he explained the composition of each dish we could already imagine the delicious smells and the song of the cicadas.
We were treated to a tasting of oils, each with its own particularity.
The dishes are delicious, I enjoyed it. Authentic cuisine with local products that is rarely found in restaurants these days.
I have rarely seen a restaurateur so passionate and invested in his cooking, thank you sir for your welcome and kindness, you made our lunch fabulous, with all our hearts we thank you, how pleasant it is to meet authentic, kind and enthusiastic like you.
When I return to Nice I will come back to Oliviera!
The only downside: they only accept cash (nowadays we mostly pay by credit card and few people still have cash on them...),

We wished to book lunch a little later. But accepted an early lunch - which in practice meant a wait for this lunch for 1 hour 20 min. Which is not acceptable - even if you are a tourist, and really have the time to wait. But this was almost degrading. The famous olive oil was offered in minimal flavor portions. We didn't buy it home with us. The lunch restaurant is open single hours / week and seems to strive to survive on old merits o reviews - also at relatively high prices.
