My favourite restaurant in Nice Simple and tasty meat dishes. Friendly service. Great prices. Make sure you try the foie gras. Have been visiting for years and will keep going back.

Any redemptive qualities this restaurant may have had were quickly (or should I say very slowly, as you'll see) erased by the poor service. My wife and I went to L'Ovale and each ordered the three course menu. We realized only after finishing our first...More

Visited this place again, and was a little disappointed with the service- different people to the last time I was there. The lady serving my table seemed more than a little impatient with my attempts at speaking French. I felt a bit uncomfortable then throughout...More

The place smelled a bit strange. Friendly staff but the meat was not cooked in the way we asked. Wine was excellent but the entrecote was cooked well done and not med/rare. Also my piece had a lot of fat. Maybe i just lucked out...More
For me a typical restauraunt with OK food, OK prices and an OK menu. Prices are pretty good, you pay 17.90 for the starter/main/dessert. Some dishes are extra, like Coq au Vin. The service is fast, sometimes a bit rushed and little pushy. We tried...More

We were happy to find this place just around the corner we stayed. The food was tasty and very generous amount. Both the cassoulet and duck tigh salad had tender duck meat and it was resonable priced. Very friendly stuff. Thanks for a good meal.
I was fairly hungry by the I got there so my review may not be totally objective but the cassoulet was just brilliant and the portion was also decent. The place was also cosy, nice and our waitress was also friendly. Definitely recommended
I have eaten in this restaurant on several occasions while visiting Nice. It specialises in cuisine from South West France and serves generous meals at reasonable cost. On my last visit it had "lightened up" the main course which was an improvement as it left...More
