We were starving when we arrived at Chateauneuf du Pape but I wasn't worried. Just a late lunch and I would be fine right? Well late lunch is not encouraged in France in fact most restaurants shut down as do all of the restaurants in CDP...except this one. Hardly a strong recommendation but with no other options we forged ahead... More

The restaurant is just on a corner of the main square of CDP. so you can sit and enjoy the life around you and take a break in all the wine tastings in the town.

Food was okay but service was poor. Staff were arrogant and like the poor service you used to get in France 20 years ago. We find generally now service is good in France. Food was okay but no sauce on a Caesar salad??! Very odd. Wouldn't go back and now looking for a better restaurant in the village.

We arrived in the heart of the pretty village of Chateauneuf-du-Pape on a baking hot day and found space on the terrace of this small restaurant. Fans helped reduce the heat a little. I ordered a beef salad and my wife a burger with fries. The burger was home made and excellent as was the bun and was definitely French... More

We had a nice family meal here. The food was very good and there was plenty of it. The service was good and Oliviere Hillaire, with much personality, served us our wine, some of which he made at his own winery. The drinks were also well done. I would go back.

The waitress was rude, the service was next to non-existent. Three of us ordered a veal scallope and non of us could finish it. It was tough and very fatty. Awful. A couple sat next to us and we told them to pass on the veal. Made the mistake of thinking it was ok because the place was full and... More

The waitress was rude. Deserts were ok but the dishes mediocre. It is visited probably only owing to its central location.

The atmosphere seemed pleasant , but rude and impolite service chased us out. My wife and me had chose a table that was sunny for her and has a little shade for me , but the waitress demanded us to go to a table of two places in a cold corner, in a very rude way. The detail is that... More

We stopped by for lunch as it was crowded (typically a good sign). But no. The reason why the restaurant was full, exceptionally SLOW and rude service. Not worth the stop. BTW, the food was average (we had the steak with gnocchi). We didn't bother to stay for dessert or coffee.

I cannot understand the poor reviews of this restaurant. We had dinner here, I had the burger and John had the steak. Both cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was friendly as were the staff. Fantastic location, couldn't fault it
