Great little restaurant in a small side street in the centre of Avignon. We sat outside and had a delicious lunch - would recommend the tuna in particular! Very friendly service too. Would certainly recommend.

We came here twice. The menu in a lot of the restaurants we went to during our stay in Avignon were quite limited - most had a choice of four or five main courses. That wasn't a problem. The first time we came to Newground we could choose from any of the five. The second time two of the items... More

Just passing by we stopped when we saw the lunchmenues of Newground. They looked really interesting and they were. For lunch caspacchio on green peas , herbs and a wonderful oliveoil. Main course: espardon - swordfish grilled to perfection accompagnied by a delicate risotto, green from herbs and very tasty. Dessert Burned figueswith sorbet, homemade as everything else We decided... More

A very pretty restaurant in a quiet side street. Staff were charming, the dishes were immaculately presented and the food was well cooked and full of flavour.

Forget where the tourists go. A small local restaurant with some interesting ideas on french food. Try their take on nori rolls and the duck was just the best. Didn't bother with desert

이번 프랑스 여행 중 최악의 식당이었습니다. The worst restaurant during the trip in france this time... 아주 질긴 스테이크와 생전 처음 믹어보는 너무 삶아버린 파스타면을 경험했습니다 we enjoyed a tough steak and awful pasta which i never have tasted before in any place 하지만 더 최악인 것은 서비스였습니다 the service was worse than the taste. 음식 나오는 데 오래 기다린데다,... We booked for Sunday lunch and it was worth doing so. By 1.15 the restaurant was full. We were greeted warmly and declined our allocated table, choosing rather to sit outside. Halfway through our delicious starter the heavens opened and despite the staffs valiant efforts to shelter us with creative placement of parasols we eventually moved indoors. Although the tables... I came here for dinner after my original target was fully booked and this had good reviews. It is a friendly, original, and mildly chaotic (in a good way) restaurant. I ordered tomato tartare with mozzarella 'espume' for starter, expecting your regular tomate-mozza salad. Oh no. It arrived like a pile of marshmallow in a bowl, so you dug through... More

We went to Newground based on the many good reviews on Tripadvisor. To our disappointment the food was not good. The entre (tomatoes/mozzarella) was lasteless, and the gambas (plat) were soggy and must have had a too long stay in the freezer. Service was charming but not very effective.
