Imagine a view of ancient ruins while dining al fresco at a quaint, family-run restaurant. Now, add organic, fresh-market, local ingredients and a rotating menu of in-season vegetables and you will swoon from the first spoonful of soup. It was a delicious respite!

We were pleasantly surprised by Chez Felix upon a spontaneous decision to eat there. They use all organic, local produce and operate from a small open kitchen. The food was packed with big flavours and hearty portions and really well priced. The staff are also really warm lovely people.

The salade composée was sublime! Served in a large stainless bowl, the salad was a wonderful mélange of beets, apples, lettuce, and other veggies. The vinaigrette was sweet and crunchy. I swear I tasted lavender. The magnet de canard was also perfectly done with figs. Sounds strange but it was a perfect marriage.

When in Arles, Vegetarians (and their non-veg friends) should make a beeline for Chez Felix! I had an amazing Indian-inspired dish while contemplating the Roman Amphitheater across the street. Très sympa!

Food was OK but the staff was very unhelpful when asked about the food and tried to knowingly overcharge us at the end. TO BE AVOIDED

A cold Sunday night in Arles and it seemed there were few restaurants open near our hotel. Chex Felix looked warm and welcoming and it was. Magret de canard in an apple sauce on rice was very good as was the apple tart and cream, the latter so enticing I forgot to photograph it. The French red wine of course... More

When you're on a 3-week whirlwind tour of France, it can be hard to find good veg restaurants, but I finally found one in Arles! I arrived early for dinner, but the proprietor let me in anyway. He speaks very good English, albeit with a heavy accent. I had the curry with the salad and red wine from Camargue...all tres... More

I'd researched veggie/vegan options before visiting and the vegetable curry was the option on the night we visited. It was slightly spicier than usual in France which was very pleasant. We sat outside with a great view of the Arena. The owner is very friendly and happy to answer questions about food ingredients.

To start with, the view was amazing over the Roman amphitheatre. We also found the duck, vegetarian curry and starter soup very good. The desserts were also delicious and the owner was very accommodating in allowing us to choose something other than "dessert of the day" and still charging us the set menu price. Excellent wines available as well, all... More

This is a very friendly slow food restaurant that has a good selection of vegetarian food. Great location opposite the Roman amphitheatre. Owner was very helpful indeed.
