I went to visit Apt with my family, during our trip in Provence. We ordered mainly beef that was very hard to chew. They brought for desert what they said it was plum clafoutis, tasteless. The whole food experience is of a very low quality...and taste. When we wanted to pay, my boyfriend did not have a mask but was forced to pay inside as they did not have means to bring the check. Inside, the cook ( that i understood was the owner also) started to yell at him for not having a mask but she did not offer one, that would seem normal. She then came to our table and started to yell in front of our children and myself. I tried to ask her the problem but she yelled at me also, without making any sense and making me and all the other customers uncomfortable. She also said that in my country people are dogs (!) comment that in my opinion is very racist. I live in Monaco so I have no idea why we are dogs. If you want to enjoy a beautiful Provence experience, i recommend you eat anywhere else but here.More

We just enjoyed a thoroughly delicious meal at Le Platane. The roast St Marcellin cheese with honey and thyme was divine. The Hake with pesto mash was sublime. Finally the lavender crème brulee had a wonderful light lavender flavour. The staff were lovely. We couldn't...fault anything. We have recommended it to friends visiting Apt next week.More

The food was decent, but dont expect too many choices. i remember there were only 2-3 main courses to choose from. I had the fish which was well cooked but the service needs much improvement. The ladies were friendly. but one of them was quite...a mess, dropping cutlery all over and forgetting our coffee order. we waited 30 mins for our coffee. not so pleased esp it was a sunny day i would much prefer to spend my time walking outdoor than over an excessively long lunchMore

We were staying in Apt and ate here twice. First time out on the very nice terrasse (if you did not reserve, you must come at 19:00 on the spot to get a table) and second time inside which is (again like many of the...restaurants) a bit cramped and you cannot help overhear all conversation at the neighbouring tables). The owner and her daughter who run the restaurant both speak English and they are both cheerful and very friendly and helpful. The food was local, simple and very good; the choices of wine and recommendation we got were also very good. Altogether a pleasant experience which I would recommend.More

Simply wonderful experience. We were sitting on the patio, enjoying romantic setting with the small lights on. It is hidden on a side street in the old town, but well worth the visit. There is no English menu, but at least one of the staff...speaks some, so can help (or just use the translator ;)). The service was swift, unusually so for France, actually. Would come here again. Food is excellent, wine too. And don't be shy - order the full 3-course menu, you won't be disappointed! Just leave enough space for desert :).More

During a recent stay in Apt, we dined here and had a wonderful meal. In fact, it was so good we returned a second time. If going on the weekend, a reservation is recommended. Both times the dining room was full, however I should note...it was too chilly to eat outside on the large patio. The server spoke excellent English and was very attentive and enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit if you are in AptMore

We ate here both nights we stayed in Apt. The first night we ate in a lovely outdoor setting under grapevines & trees. The second night, weather didn't permit this, but the indoor seating is charming. The food was good country French, the service wonderful,...& good value for money.More

It seems the nicest restaurants have small but unique menu offerings. This delightful little restaurant followed this pattern. The daily fish choice was accompanied by fragrant quinoa and delicious roasted vegetables. The dessert tarte au citron creamy and fresh lemon. The vegetarian spinach lasagna was...delicately nutmeg spiced. Service was friendly and efficient in this family business. We left feeling totally satisfied, having spent a refreshing evening in a charming and secluded courtyard.More

Closed on Monday, but we returned the next evening for a lovely meal on the pretty terrace. The food was excellent, although the house carafe a little more expensive than usual. The service was friendly and helpful.

We were in Apt as part of a honeymoon trip and found this restaurant from TA reviews. It was delicious with good service and amazing food. We each had the three course menu (30 euro) and loved the gazpacho, lamb, and lavender créme brûlée the...best. The house wine was plentiful and inexpensive as well. Nothing beats the calm and pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant terrace either. We did reserve ahead, which was good because they definitely filled up for dinner. Don't miss this gem in Apt!More

Le Platane is a cozy traditional restaurant. The steak in red wine sauce was extremely tender. Good salad upfront and a nice lemon desert. A tasty meal.

Small resto hidden along a shopping street in the center of Apt, having a very nice terras on the first level. One waitress was running around and kept on smiling. We really enjoyed the lunch menu. Excellent price/quality level. Better to make reservation up front...- for sure on the market day - we saw 4 couples which couldn’t get a table. If we visit Apt again, we'll be back.More

Le Platane is a cheerful, warm, somewhat folksy, husband and wife restaurant. We had read reviews and visited the website so we did not arrive with great expectations (which was a good thing!). My gazpacho was very flavorful and the high point of my dinner,...my filet au poivre was a disappointing piece of beef with an unremarkable sauce and my fruit compote was so tart that it should have been the topping of a sugary meringue (which it wasn't!). Others in our large party had somewhat better luck. The cheerful demeanor of the chef/owner's wife who waited on our table enabled us to have a satisfactory experience, notwithstanding our culinary disappointment. If I were a local, Le Platane would not be my go-to weekday restaurant.More
