Nice and friendly service. Great food (the magret was delicious) and wine. Good price. Highly recommend it. Our best meal in Aix-en-Provence.

I choose this place based on some of the reviews here on Tripadvisor. While I can't say that the food was bad, it was not up to the standard of any of the other restaurants I have waten at in Aix. It was better than a lot of what I have had in North America though. I started my meal... More

Great lunch. Only a few options but perfect. Duck, cod or beef. Service is excellent. Our waiter worked in Australia so our lack of French was not a problem. Small with excellent food at a reasonable price 15 EUR for lunch.

The restaurant is located in a narrow alley which makes the outside seating quite surreal. If you are seated outside you could see a beautiful church at the end of the street. The food quality, taste and presentation were outstanding. The service made us feel really welcome. The waiter spoke English and was extremely helpful and friendly. We were party... More

We visited here after touring the markets in Aix. The restaurant is in a side street near the market square. The French waiter and chef (co-owners I think) used to work at high end restaurants in the UK, the Chef at Heston Blumental's Fat Duck. The service was friendly, relaxed, personal and informative. The food was fabulously good, and great... More

I went there last night with my husband and a friend. We had a Heineken (this is the only mistake, not having a decent beer to offer) Then we continued with Rosé that was pretty good (Chateau Virant) For entrée I had "Gambas avec ravioli et roquette", I ate it slowly only to be able to delay pleasure, it was... We went for dinner here last night before going to the Aix Opera Festival and we enjoyed it enormously. We liked sitting on their street terrace and the charming owner was very helpful and friendly. It has a small but interesting menu and we thought that the food was very well prepared and presented. A Luberon wine was proposed to... More

This place and the restaurant next door, Le Counterpoint are side by side in a little alleyway. We opted for this one as it looked more like traditional French cuisine and we were not disappointed. The waiter was very friendly and helpful with explaining some of the menu items. He suggested a good wine to pair well with my duck... More

As the outdoor tables were all full, we were seated in the vaulted basement, which sounds awful, but is actually quite attractive. The menu was interesting, food very good, service friendly and bill very reasonable for what we had.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at L'alcove. Run by the two hard working owners this is a restaurant worth looking for tucked away in a side street. The maitre' d is enthusiastic about the produce used and explains fully all the intricacies of the delicious food. There were many locals eating the night we were there, always a sure sign... More
