Came for lunch and sat outside in the square. Relatively limited menu, and they were out of 2 of the roughly 8 options. But a good burger and solid sampler plate with gazpacho, salad, a bean salad, a coleslaw, some duck, and a chicken wrap of sorts. Solid.

Smaller and simpler than most restaurants in this large crowded city square, L'epicrien offers a daily evening menu of 3 appetizers, 3 entrees and 3 desserts - every dish a marvel of flavor and creativity. Our group of 5 ordered different combinations and each was nothing short of extraordinary. If you are adventurous and discriminating, this is your destination.

A lovely Aix shop owner shared this restaurant name with us. It's a very small place but has a good sized outdoor area in a town square. It's a very nice outdoor space. The food and service were excellent. Main plates were around €28. Aix is not inexpensive and this restaurant is top quality.

We had a great meal and a great experience. The setting in the midst of a plaza in Aix is beautiful. The service was warm, engaging and attentive. The menu was simple and satisfying. And both the chef and pastry chef came out to great us. They love their work and their passion shows. We are grateful to our friends... More

One of the best meals we had on a trip filled with wonderful meals. The restaurant is quite small but supplemented with outdoor tables on the open square. Our waiter was intensely busy covering the entire restaurant, inside and out, on his own, yet provided excellent and personable service.

We saw reviews on trip advisor but made the booking when our hotelier recommended it too. We had been to Mitch the night before, and it is very similar except the clientele in Mitch were English/ American and this restaurant was 100% French excluding us! As said before, very small, so you do need to book, people were being turned... More

The small (seats fewer than 20 patrons) restaurant is a short walk from the hotel, L'Image. The talented chef creates pretty plate presentations featuring items such as monk fish with lentils, eggplant, tomatoes or goat with asparagus, carrots and pea pods - all deemed tasty to our party of six. Asparagus in creamed pea soup was refreshing; fruit brioche and... More

This restaurant straddles the border between bistrot and more French haute cuisine. It is a somewhat dressier restaurant in the presentation than most of the local bistrots but the service is warm, enthusiastic and competent, so not at all stuffy. Reservations are a must and the food is excellent and the menu changes frequently. We started with asparagus that was... More

Tonights dinner had me thinking of Zeno's Paradoxes. Particularly the Dichotomy Paradox. Where if each time you have an action/ movement you travel half the distance you never finish. So with my meal, I kept taking smaller bites hoping it would never end. 3 amazing courses. Both of us argued who had the best meal. Boar crepinette, Prawn Ravioli, Veal... More

Small and charming restaurant, impeccable service, great wine card and absolutely delicious food. Definite recommendation from me, just try it, your taste buds will be dancing of joy.😋

Description
This place is a hidden gem. The owner is the chef and he only uses fresh produce and he is extremly talented. We just spent 8 nights in Aix and after eating at a couple of restaurants none of them came close to this place. They friendly and the food is just amazing. This restaurant should be on trip advisor without a doubt. His food melts in your mouth and the flavors are out of this world. The owners are Ludovic & Laura Aillaud
