Our first night in La Rochelle after a 5 hour drive from Honfleur ..... I had a quick scan on TripAdvisor and plumped for Le Panier de Crabes ... We arrived somewhat overdressed, thinking it was a posh restaurant. It isn’t. It’s a tiny corner...More
We walked by this place all the time and it's packed. Everyone gets the seafood platter. I'm not convinced it's a 'locals' place but who cares. We had to go and test it out. We were not disappointed. The platter is huge, and even at...More

If you like fresh sea food and especially Fruits de Mer, you will LOVE this place! Very friendly staff, beautiful location, relaxed atmosphere, good wine... it was a perfect romantic dinner. Take the platter for 30 Euro per person, it's their signature dish.
