Friendly Staff and Good Food

Got this restaurant off the viamichelin website and decided to go during our visit to La Rochelle. In short, the staff were friendly and helpful with good English when our French let us down. Food was good and the prices fair for the standard achieved. The best bit was the open kitchen which kept... read more

L’Entracte is my type of restaurant. Everything is of a good quality. All the ingredients are cooked to perfection. The dishes are relatively simple, but are served in a slightly different way. They have the knack of knowing which tastes go together and everything harmonises beautifully. The plates look attractive and appetising, even though they are not ‘works of art’... More

It was a wonderful change to have great customer service in La Rochelle. The food was excellent and prices less than many of the other restaurants in town. We were made to feel welcome and our family enjoyed our lunch experience very much! Thank you to all the staff.

So I asked the hotel front desk for some good restaurants in the area and he gave me the usual. My beautiful friend and I walked over to the resto's without reservations and went from one to another without luck. Entracte was the next restaurant in line and they had a reservation in about 45 minutes. So we walked to... More

My wife and I had dinner on July 6, 2015 at l'Entracte /Brasserie de Gregory in the lively rue St Jean du Pérot which has many eateries, some good and some looking like tourist traps. This brasserie is run by Gregory Coutanceau, a member of a family well known on the gastronomic scene in La Rochelle (see my separate review... More

Great little restaurant with a great concept, the slate menu. Excellent value of menu of the day with wine. They provided even better wine when I ordered another glass after I asked them to choose for me. We went back the next night and the service and food quality was consistently superb.
