We looked forward to visiting this restaurant after reading many good reviews but must say that we were very disappointed. We ate here for lunch and for starters we had a tasteless soup and some odd tasting prawns. The main courses were a little better, the moule frites ok and a fish dish which were just below average. In total... More

I booked this restaurant based on TripAdvisor reviews. Wish I hadn't. Service was patchy and disinterested, and the food was a let-down.The fish terrine starter was tasteless and flabby, the beef was so bad that my steak knife couldn't cut it. it came smothered in onions, no doubt to disguise it. The cheese and salad for afters featured a small... More

If your traveling through France and happen to be on the West Coast Fruits de Mer is something you should try. I had a good look around the restaurants in La Rochelle and chose this one . They have FdM au volontair, as much as you can eat. I did, the quality was very good, I had oysters, crab, shrimps,... More

The hotel gave us a free drink note to be used at this restaurant--the staff did not seem interested!! Mainly a fish eatery. Two set menus, 18 /29 euro. Fish soup and fish pie were good. My friend had mussels and sea bass. Portions not good though, 8 euro for abismal half bottle of white wine. Such a selection of... More

Fish soup, prawns, moules. Good wine. Strong coffee (menus in English if you need it). Friendly service. Recommended.

It's such a lottery sometimes in La Rochelle due to the choice but we hit the jackpot here-this serves good traditional well prepared and simple quality food at fair price-good emphasis on local seafood and excellent service-we ate here twice and had two lovely evenings.

With so many places to choose from, by chance we made an excellent choice this evening. We were given a warm welcome and felt at home straight away. The menu choice was diverse, I chose cod croquettes served with a tasty sauce to start, beautifully presented. Main Course of melt in the mouth tuna slices, sweet flavoursome sauce, tasty flavoured... More

Restaurant recommended by locals, it's located on the pier but away from the tourist traps that overcharge you. We were welcomed by the owner who gave friendly advice on the surroundings. Good food for an average of 25 euros per person.

There are a lot of great restaurants in La Rochelle and it can be difficult to make a choice over where to go for dinner. What sets them apart is the atmosphere and the service. This restaurant literally oozes atmosphere and the service was exceptional. The owner is the chef and his extremely proud wife is one of the main... More

The mussels dish had very small mussels and the sauce wasn't very tasty. The grilled fish was alright. Service was good. Good location. Overall, for the price, it was average.
