We chose bulots and half a crab each as a starter, followed by mussels. The bulots were OK. The crab was obviously a whole one cut in two ... fine. Except, it was also obvious that the shell had already been split from the carcase,...and what do we find? Literally, not much. Most of the body meat had been removed! When we complained, the explanation was that female crabs have much less meat! So for our €8.90, we basically had a crab claw each. TOURIST RIP-OFF! The mussels were OK, but the accompanying chips were our worst so far in la Rochelle. Our Ti Punch cocktails were bitter as hell, something missing there, furthermore, avoid the pichet of vin blanc, rhymes with plonk, and it was horrible, I can buy vinegar for seriously less than €18.70. Service was fine. If you must eat here, do it first, you'll enjoy decent meals elsewhere even more.More

Waiter really told me to f* off after a little conversation if I may leave the bicycle where it was and where it disturbed noone. Instead I moved the bike and my bucks to a friendlier place

We went here on our final night in La Rochelle based on having walked passed previously and seen the seafood platter then checked on trip advisor. We didn’t have a booking, but were quickly seated, but unfortunately our waitress didn’t make us feel very welcome....Language differences didn’t help, I absolutely do not expect everyone to speak English, but would expect her to slow down and speak more clearly to give my rusty French a chance! The food was good, with the platter and mussels we ordered being tasty, but service continued to be rushed including attempting to order a second bottle of wine being ignored and plates being cleared despite some of us still eating. Once we finished our meal we eventually found another waiter to bring our bill, paid and left. It was a shame, if the service had matched the food the review would be much better.More

Had a wonderful evening and an exceptional meal here last night. This place was highly recommended by La Rochelle locals - with good reason. Incredibly warm friendly and obliging staff and superb food. Excellent value for money and perfect location.

The food was excellent, especially the mussels. Our first bottle of Rose was awful, the second good. Stay away from cheapest. Good service, friendly staff. Not cheap but would return.

Spent a few days in La Rochelle with friends and chose this restaurant even with some negative reviews. Needn’t have worried, location perfect, staff friendly and welcoming and food was excellent. We ate a variety of dishes at a cost of 160 euros including wine...for 4 people. Would visit again for sure. Staff often treat you as you treat them and appreciate you trying to speak French - always helpsMore

Four of us went to this restaurant and found the staff, especially the waiter who spoke English, very helpful and friendly. One of us was in a wheelchair and they said it was no problem. We sat indoors as there was a breeze and most...of the outside tables were booked anyway. My friend and I had sole meunière which was excellent and our husbands had the menu which was good value. The crème brulée was perfect, creamy with a crisp top.More

Definitely make a reservation if you want to enjoy dinner here. Service starts at 7pm and it gets busy quickly because it is on the what under the chain tower opposite the water bus terminal. Excellent choice of fish dishes both as starters and entrees....I liked the tuna tartare with avocado followed by fish risotto. Please make sure you leave room for the house special - the brioche dessert, which certainly does live up to its billing!More

Food is good - waiters are just unbelievable: ignorant, rude, making you feel unwelcome. Plates and water is simply slammed on your table, they don’t give a f*ck who ordered which plate, just „oh, it’s fish“, bill is brought without asking and while half through...drinking a bottle of wine. Seriouly, even new people on the job are better, at least they try and are politeMore

Whilst finding a reassurance with a reasonable fish selection as well as seafood, this restaurant came up trumps last night. Fair price, excellent service and very good sea bass.
