One of the best

This is one of our top restaurants in la rochelle this was our 3rd visit but 1st as a couple the other times were with family. We had a lovely romantic dinner, really tasty burger and great fois gras. Had to take one point off the score though cos that evening there were a lot of little flies... read more

My wife and I enjoyed this restaurant so much that we ended up eating here two nights in a row... The service is excellent, the atmosphere inside and outside is also excellent. For starters I had the Oeuf Cocotte (and nearly everyone around me as well) which was excellent. On one of the nights I had the "Hambur-Gers et frites"... More

I doubt if you will do better than this restaurant for food quality and service. The four of us, two adults and two children, loved the food. Our youngest daughter is hard to please with food but she asked us to return the following night and we were equally pleased. Well done to all.

First impression: excellent service and food presentation. Second impression, the gustatory one: very tasty, made with fresh, local ingredients. The gazpacho, in particular, was a yummy work of art. Someone in the kitchen knows what they're doing. The house Bordeaux was absolutely fit for the occasion. We sat outside on the busy street but the inside of the restaurant is... More

We have eaten here before and often had the cote de boeuf which is excellent. Tonight I had the fish of the day and my wife had the mussels. Both were excellent again. Good service and a reasonable price; €68 including a bottle of wine and an aperitif.

Two hungry people, late at night, most restaurants have just closed .... desperation sets in - we don't want to go home and we need food! Picture a friendly smile, a YES - we are still open and "voila" we were happy. That was Baitona last week! We shared a house delicacy - chef's own invention -"les moules à la... More

Probably the best of the 5 restaurants we ate at in La Rochelle when we (20 cyclists) toured there in June 2014. Made us very welcome, provided excellent service and the food/wine was superb. Very happy with the price charged. We will be back in 2015 should we tour to La Rochelle again.

Good cooking and friendly service, shame about the limited wine options. We had the set menu which is good value at 26 or 29 euros, for 2 or 3 courses. Both had the foie gras, which was ok but not special. The moules marinieres were excellent though. Arriving on sizzling cast iron dishes they oozed tomato and garlic sauce and... More

The street where Baitona sits is literally lined with restaurants/eateries either side of it and choosing where we were going to eat took some time as there are also a lot more places around the harbour and square, however this place seemed to draw us in and we were not disappointed! Waiters spoke good English and we were offered both... More

Had a great time here with friends. Situated on a busy street and great atmosphere. Waitress was friendly but should have asked her to explain the confit with chips. It arrived raw. However we tried it and it was very tasty. It had been marinated in tomato and herbs. Other dishes looked good too. I would recommend this restaurant .... More
