Only Brits in the place. Full of locals. Generous portions at a good price. The wood fired oven has to be seen to be believed, the children were transfixed by it. Watching the dough puff up in moments is just magical as the Fouées are cooked. The pizza were "the best I've ever had" according to my wife and the... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local who said they made a local dish, galipette. A mushroom is used as a base and there are various toppings. You also get pocket bread. We were amazed how filling they were plus of course tasted delicious. The restaurant itself was very attractive with a wood burning oven as a highlight.... More

Great place in Saumur Centre. Recommended to us by a Chateau we were visiting for a wine tasting. We had local specialities Galipettes / Fouées (Stuffed large mushrooms and mini breads), Fish soup and Tripe. Go here and you will not be disappointed. Everything is cooked in front of you, in the wood oven, in the centre of the restaurant.... More

My wife and I chose this restaurant after walking the streets looking for somewhere to eat that looked inviting and was reasonably priced. A very helpful lady who spoke good English came to the outside menu board and explained some of the mysteries of their offerings to us. She jokingly explained that they did not have a menu in English... More

We decided to eat here after arriving into Saumur and needed a place to eat with our young daughter. This was a really lovely find. It felt like a french take on Italian which was executed quite well. The pizza we had was delightful, as was the HUGE serving of a salad. Wine selection is minimal but still nice. Recommend... More

Delicious local food and very helpful friendly service from Madame who spoke good English. Very tasty wood fired pizzas for our fussy children. Also take away pizzas available.

A food from Saumur is fouees and this restaurant features them in it's menu. Freshly baked for each order they arrive at the table hot and inviting with delicious fillings. The galipettes (mushrooms) were the best I've ever eaten. The service was good, the ambience convivial and the patio adequate.

This restaurant was recommended to is by our hotel (Le Londres) and we liked it so much we went back! Must tries are the fouees- puffy wood oven baked bread, like pita, that you slice open and fill up from a tray of goat cheese, rilettes, beans, herbed butter and more. I loved the galipettes 3 ways-mushroom caps topped with... More

We were walking down the road looking for somewhere to eat and there were at least six restaurants one after the other. We chose this place as it had an authentic food fired pizza oven and looked welcoming and had a lot of outside seating as well as being packed inside. Very friendly woman came to serve us ( not...
