Good food. Located in the main square and easy to find but recommend booking in advance. Not an expensive place to eat and a pleasant place to watch life go by.

Wow, what a great night, food was exceptional, service was superb but the music and atmosphere was second to none, best night ever, the most cool place to visit xx

We were welcomed warmly in this lovely bistrot, where we had a delicious meal (menu du jour) and a fabulous bottle of wine. Friendly and helpful staff, well worth a visit.

Cute little bistro on the main square. We only had a glass of wine there but was cute. A little pricey compared to other places but still very nice!

What a gem, a great dining experience with super staff. Lovely food, I had the cassoulet escargot and it was delicious. The main course we chose was duck and it was very tasty. It is well worth visiting. The menu was quite limited which was a shame otherwise we would have gone back the following night.

We were really lucky to get a table in this restaurant in Saumur, even mid September. We quickly found out why. The staff were so friendly and helped us with our poor attempts at French. The menu selection was superb and a perfect example of French cuisine. The food itself was excellent and sitting in the square underneath the chateau... More

When you're in a popular tourist destination like Saumur, it's likely that the restaurants with tables on the main square will be out to serve simple and ordinary (sometime, simply bad) food at high prices to unsuspecting tourists, who won't be coming back anyway, so repeat business is not the main objective. Le Bistrot Les TonTons is a bit different.... More

First thing I would is make sure you have a reservation. We were lucky enough good to get a table, but others were not so lucky. The baked Camembert is an ideal starter to share. Steak tartare was very nice as well. Staff are very friendly and will give some good recommendations for wine, which is not overly expensive. More... More

The service was very good, definitely cater to non-French clientele. But food was authentic and good, the meat and cheese platter starter was very very good, the lamb shank was good maybe a little bit salty for my taste. But the service was friendly and extremely helpful. Definitely would stop by for a meal if we are here again.

Not to be mistaken for a restaurant or a brasserie! Instead, we are a cosy little bistrot (max. 25 seats) ! Enjoy simple bistrot fare freshly prepared on a daily basis, alongside quality niche wines sourced by Gerald from local producers and across France. Available for private wine tasting events. Small & large group bookings and private hire.
