Very good classic French restaurant. We had the "SAVEURS IMPRESSIONNISTES" Menu, a very good choice. Service is very professional. Very good location.

We had a wonderful lunch for 5 people during free time on a Seine tour. The ambience was special in such an ancient building and so was the food and service. The manager took time to tell us about the history and was so nice that we included her in our pictures. Everything was delicious, but my oysters were so... More

If you go to one fancy restaurant in the Normandy region, this is the one! Everything was absolutely perfect. And the French were wonderful to us Americans. The dinner is an event - don't go there is a hurry. Enjoy every moment and the fabulous food. The owner was there and she was very welcoming and gracious too.

Whether it is true or not, to be and dine in the alleged oldest restaurant of France put an extra dimension on then sphere. The friendly service is splendid. It is a true French restaurant for the waiters do not speak English at all. The dishes are excellent. We never had so good cote de boeuf. We paid 150 euro... More

Good afternoon Karel S. Thank you very much for giving us the 5 star treatment. I am very happy to read that you enjoyed our famous "côte de boeuf". Dinner for 2, Saturday 30, 2016. We were lucky Mrs Cauvin was present because she is the soul of this restaurant--she is now taking time off and often replaced by her daughter who is very nice though. The décor is old Norman but very comfortable and reassuring in these days of rapid change and dining rooms which look like dissecting... More

Good afternoon FrederickWentworth. Thank you so much for your nice comments that i will certainly share with Mrs Cauvin. You are indeed right about our cheese tray. I believe that we are amongst the last few to have no les than 21 locals cheeses on offer. There is one for every taste. Thank you so much for the note you... More

We came across this restaurant when walking around Rouen. It is striking when you first see it and we immediately decided we should book a table. It looks out on the vieuk. Marche where Joan of arc was burned at the stake but the big test was the quality of the food.i started with the lobster salad which was excellent... More

We had a wonderful multi course meal and wines, and felt we had a wonderful gourmet meal for a fair price. Great location across from the Jean d' Arc church.

We had thirteen family members in three generations together from US and Ireland and chose this because of its reputation for great food and for its being the oldest auberge in France! The birthday party for my sons 16th and my uncle's 70th was set up online with the catering manager via email. The restaurant is very organized about this.... More

We dined at La Couronne in March 2016, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Normandy. Restaurants don’t come more charming and historic than this. It is, after all, France’s oldest restaurant. The owner and waiter were welcoming and super attentive. It was a wonderful evening in every sense. Two of us ordered the pressed duck,... More
