I've decided to go to this restaurant thanks to the reviews on TA and I'm so happy I did so! The restaurant itself is very nice - great atmosphere - and the food is fantastic. The waiter we had didn't speak English, but we managed to understand each other in some way. Highly recommended!

We went to Bistro Basque because of Trip Advisor reviews as well as the hotel staff's recommendations expecting tapas. Fortunately we had not eaten a big lunch because after a shared sardines appetizer we had a fillet of beef and a lamb chops that were extraordinary. The wine selection was excellent and had a red wine I had never heard... More

The bistrot is our port of call when we stay in Caen. 3 minutes walk to hotel Mercure Port de Plaisance, the staff is welcoming and always keen to advise. Their wine list is excellent and the tapas a delightful way to start the meal. It is cuisine at its best and just glancing round, a place where the locals... More

When arrived in Caen, France, this is where we first stopped and had a few French Spanish Basque tappas. We had some Bocorones marinés,Onglet gratin and a Spanish beer. In fact it was such a good experience, we went back a few nights later and had a wonderful dinner of Sardines grillées sur planche,Assiette de Serrano and Crevettes sautées à... More

There is nothing better than a little sangria and jamòn, but the reasl show-stealer is the half of a cod, grilled with peppers and garlic, served on a platter. It is for two people, but can be plenty for two adults and three young girls. And it is delicious. The only real bémol is the menu in English, which is... More

Although it seemed strange to go in a Spanish Restaurant in Caen, it looked so popular and inviting for lunch down by the marina, that we were just drawn in. We had the set meal for 12 euros, just one course and it was delicious. I had fish with a beautiful sauce and my partner had pork. The tapas also... More

Drooped into this Bistro for dinner and we were not disappointed. Had the tapas to share to start which was fantastic! Had a great bottle of Basque white wine to go with the sea bass which was cooked to perfection. Fresh, flavourful and the potatoe and veg with it was very good as well. I finished off with the ewe...
