The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. I was not expecting such level of service and attention. We were served with smiles and positivity. Will go back again. Thank you to the owner and team for making my lunch very enjoyable.

We had an impromptu meal while staying a night before a ferry to UK. The decor welcome and feel of Boeuf & Cow is terrific. We were sat in a window seat with a brilliant view of the cathedral and château. We had a mis...of tapas to share as a starter - tataki beef was stand out - then a fillet steak and a chicken burger respectively. All really tasty and well cooked. Being offered calvados shots was a nice touch. We’d thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will return when next in CaenMore

Fantastic food and service throughout our visit. Restaurant was completely full but that in no way detracted in any way from either food or service, simply excellent.

…then I came here. Unbelievable quality of food for such a reasonable price. The roasted bone marrow starter is essential. The fillet of steak with fois gras is the best I’ve ever tasted; like butter, no chewing required. The staff were brilliant; super laid back...and very welcoming to English speaking guests. Their recommendations were spot on and nothing was too much hassle, even when the place was busy and bustling. Considering this is a short ferry ride away from Portsmouth, it amazes me that they don’t have more British reviews on the page. I couldn’t wait to write this review, and we will be back again!More

From the second we entered the restaurant to the second we left was absolutely incredible, not one thing we could fault. The staff, the food, the ambiance was just amazing. Thank you so much for our lovely evening.

We reserved a table for a Sunday evening which was just aswell as they were fully booked and had to turn people away. We were given a menu in English which was helpful. The first page mentioned the staff working there and their ethos and...the last page gave details of where locally all the food comes from. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My husband and I both had steak and I had tart tatin and he had a chocolate dessert. The food was outstanding. We will definitely try to go back before the end of our holiday. I would give more stars if I could.More

Location is great, restaurant is beautiful. All the food besides the steak was great. Three people in my party, and three people in another party that was with us all ordered the ribeye steak. It was the toughest piece of meat anyone had ever tried...to eat. Would never order that steak from this place again. Other diners had the sirloin and the chicken, and both were great. Staff was very pleasant and service was good.More

We visited tonight, after making a reservation at short notice. Having toured Normandy for three days eating our bodyweight in boulangerie sandwiches and pastries, steak and fries was exactly what we needed! The food was delicious; we enjoyed fillet steak, fries and vegetables and ended...our meal with desserts of chocolate fondant and a tarte tatin! All of the staff were brilliant and although looked incredibly busy, gave excellent service and nothing was too much trouble! Would definitely recommend, and when we return to Caen, we will be back!More

What can I say? Took my family here for a three course meal and every plate was nigh on perfect. The chef here really knows how to cook steak beautifully. Hope to return... many times.
