First dinner in Bayeux at this adorable restaurant. Great menu with some fixed price options. We ate all over the menu .. the tiramisu, profiteroles, Camembert, veal, beef .. like I said, all over the place. Had a gorgeous Loire Valley white. Service was fantastic -- excellent English and very attentive. We sat outside, which was great for people watching... More

Although small and fully booked on this Saturday evening we didn't feel at all crowded. Two of us ate home cooked foie gras and baked cambembert, followed by duck's breast and red mullet with chocolate crème brûlée and lemon tart for desert - all perfectly cooked. The service was charming and helpful. An excellent dinner.

This is a small restaurant we discovered and on the strength of other positive reviews we ate and enjoyed a wonderful meal. The restaurant filled to capacity but this did not detract from the service. Our needs were attended with good cheer and meals were well paced. Food was delicious and very well priced and the wines which were recommended... More

We completely enjoyed our meal here. When we could't get into another more well known restaurant that night, we were told to try l'AlchimiE and were so glad we did! The owners were great and accommodating. It is a smaller place, so it is not a fancy place, but the pork chop was really good. All the food was. We went... More

One of our main courses was overcooked and resulted in very tough tiger prawns. When brought to the attention of the waitress, she apologized and had the dinner redone. The redone dinner was cooked to perfection and was delicious. The other dinner was a local fish (Saint Pierre) and was excellent. The dinner were well presented and the accompaniments were... More

OK, if you don't like foie gras skip my review. But having eaten more than my fair share of foie gras appetizers in nearly all regions of France over many years of travels, I was especially impressed by L'Alchimie's presentation of a cold foie gras paired with its sauted (warm) sibling; hadn't seen that before. Together they added up to... More

We are not huge foodies, and only had a starter for our meal...delicious! The egg and asparagus salad was such a surprise! The restaurant is owned by a husband (chef) and wife( waitress) team and they seem to do it right! Highly recommend!

We were pleased to get a quiet table in this cosy restaurant. The food was terrific, the presentation impressive, and the waitress's wine recommendations an excellent match for our meals.

Had dinner with my husband and we enjoyed every minute! We chose a set menu and every single course was cooked to perfection! Great taste and very fresh! Service was polite even if her English was not the best, very happy about the service! The dessert was do die for and my husband seriously considered ordering an other one!

We had a lovely dinner here earlier this month. We were a group of 7 and felt very comfortable, never rushed. We each ordered one of the pre fixe menus (I had the beef and the apple dessert) and it was all delicious. The staff spoke English, which was helpful but not necessary since our tour guide is from France.... More
