My boyfriend invited me out for dinner at this small restaurant and we were met by the most friendly and service-minded host. We had the most wonderful evening with delicious local charcuterie and cheeses and a very good bottle of red wine, simple and perfectly fresh. As a starter we tried some local ciders, which I can only recommend. This... More

10 of us went to this restaurant on the recommendation of the concierge in our hotel. We all enjoy French cuisine and wine, so this sounded perfect. How wrong you can be. There was no main course menu you had what the Chef was cooking that night. It was pork and not good, the sauce was far too sweet and... More

Le Volet qui Penche is a wine shop by day and an inspired restaurant by night. The owner and wait staff made us welcome and explained the menu selections. We chose the local fish (shark with a chorizo sauce) and the beef Bourguignon, and the owner helped us select a wine balanced for both selections . The meal began with... More

We had a plate of charcuterie that was big enough to serve as a meal. The owner was helpful with a wine suggestion and let us taste various styles of calvados as a way of helping us choose one to buy. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

We were able to visit Bayeux to be with Family and chose Le Volet. One of the best meals in France, only surpassed by the wine selection and the service. This restaurant, by itself, is a reason to visit Bayeux and France. The stars aligned to allow us to be with family on our visit and eating here, from the... More

Le Volet is a small, quaint restaurant tucked away on the river's edge. It's food is outstanding! Make sure to inquire about the plat du jour as it is always something special prepared by the chef fresh from the morning's trip to the local market. The desserts are to die for especially cafe du gourmand. The wine selection reflects the... More

My friend and I were staying in Bayeux in order to take the D-Day Tour, and we happened into this restaurant, which ended up being a highlight of our trip. The meal was high-quality, but the atmosphere was comfortable and not too formal; just what we were looking for. The food was delicious, and we ended up meeting some other... More

We read about this on Trip Advisor and decided to try it. It was the best meal we had in 3 days in Bayeux! Although primarily a wine store, this place serves wine and a variety of foods, cheese, meats and some meals. We ended up with steak for two, a great salad, bread and dessert to accompany our fabulous... More

Whilst spending a few days in Bayeux, decided to visit this wine bar. It was full upon our arrival but the most friendly and helpful owner said that he would find us a table if we were prepared to wait a few minutes. Whilst waiting we enjoyed a fine glass of red out on the path in this lovely old... More

Recommended by Hotel Churchill staff. Just a few tables inside - too cold and rainy to eat outside. Great "home cooked" meal and of course a good wine recommendation. Menu is on a blackboard but waiter explained the dishes to us. Enjoyable time
