I was hesitant to try this place for dinner as it was more like a place for wine than for food, but it had really good reviews so we went anyways. There are only very selective items to choose from to eat and they have the menu of the day. We choose the menu of the day meal to share... More

This is primarily a wine cellar, which also serves foods to match the wines. You can either choose a bottle on the shelves or follow the advice of the sommelier. Either way, this is an enjoyable way to spend part of an evening. Recommended.

We entered Le Volet qui Penche with twelve and were quickly and friendly helped to a few tables. The food was very good but, as with many other restaurants in the region, for vegetarians there was not much to choose from. Not much fish either. Le Volet offers a wide range of wines, not cheap but we had an excellent... More

We had ridden the train to Bayeux, and we're all turned around. Pierre Henri must have recognized our glazed expressions and offered to help. We ended up eating and drinking excellent wine at his Bistrot several times. A perfect introduction to the charm and beauty of Bayeux! And now a friend

We stopped here for a glass of wine, had such a good time talking with the owner, the waiter and the other guests that we returned for dinner. The wine list is extensive, the menu is limited, interesting wine shop inside.

Loved this place so much I went twice! Once in the afternoon for a glass of wine. Sat by a window in the back over the tiny river. Lovely view. Enjoyed some quiet time to write some postcards home. Also went for an early dinner one night. They seem to only have maybe one option for a true dinner but... More

We were in Bayeux for 3 days and walked by this restaurant each day. Tonight we decided to try it out. We had the plat du jour for 18 euros (each day they have a plat du jour). The dinner was excellent. We had a main course of cod, appetizer that was a phyllo pastry stuffed with Camembert cheese and... More

We walked in at around 6:30 pm. Although we did not have reservations, we did get a table. Most of the tables were reserved however. The restaurant offers one meal of the day (appetizer, main course, and dessert) which was displayed at the bar. Other offerings included onion soup, various platters of cheese, meat or a combo of the two.... More

These guys are proud of their food and wine choices and well they should be. Each item we ordered, cider, wine, snails, meat and cheese plate was outstanding. We purchased calvadas after trying several in the town veggie market and liked the owner enough we searched them out at dinner time and got the last table of the night. MAKE... More

We wandered down a narrow street and found this unique wine bar. It is small and most people had reservations but we got seats. We were served wine without looking at a menu for prices, and had charcuterie and cheese. The bill was much less than we expected.
