A really nice and friendly place, the staff were lovely and, given that it was absolutely packed, the service very good. Both the galettes and crêpe were first rate, with a wide range of fillings - so good we paid a return visit the following week. All three of us had the complète for first course and were more adventurous... More

A nice light lunch with the family. Simple buckwheat pancakes with numerous fillings. Good service, convenient for sights.

Maybe it was a busy night, but the staff just seemed overwhelmed by everything. For a simple creperie with simple choices the courses took a long time to come. Looking around us, they seemed to be always moving tables and getting confused. the food was okay, although I have to say my side order of fries was tasteless. No bread... More

My meal was delicious. Different (for me) way to serve pancakes. I choose the wholegrain with tuna and egg. My husband had the ham and mushroom one.The offer was very various, and the place itself looks very nice, but none of staff could speak English.

Two of us visited this small restaurant on our way to Bayeux Cathedral. We wanted a light tasty meal and both chose a Ffjord - salmon, creme fresh, lemon and fish eggs on a tasty galette. A Ricard and orange juice to start. After that honey & almond pancake and a calvados flambé with chocolate for me. Rounded off with... More

This creperie is in the heart of Bayeux. My wife and I went there on a Sunday evening and it was pretty quiet. We were warmly welcomed and were seated at a table of our choice. The server was delightful and we quickly decided on their special, a gallette du moment, which had mushrooms, garlic and cheese and came with... More

Despite having made a reservation, we (party of 3) were greeted by a mildly surprised and slightly rude waitress who directed us to a tiny table barely big enough for two. The wait staff and management must have attended the same class on how to avoid dining guests and how to manage your restaurant inefficiently. Our original waitress disappeared at... More

We visited L'Insolite several years ago and found it charming. Our visit recently was the same. The restaurant its tucked away on a small street near the cathedral. They have a large menu of galettes and crepes, so it is hard to decide which ones to try! The service was excellent and the prices just right. The food is excellent.... More

We came to the area where there were many restaurants and chose L'Insolite because they allowed us to come in before 7pm. What a good choice! Our waiter was delightful (and spoke English very well). The salmon with cooked potatoes and the green salad were outstanding. I recommend this restaurant.

We all enjoyed our evening meal here, finding it by accident. Good choice of galettes and crepes and a lovely Kir Normand with peach.
