My wife and I and two friends enjoyed dinner at La Rapiere on a Thursday evening in September 2016. The waiters were very professional and the food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their menu choices very much as well as their wine. This was definitely a first-class dining experience. This restaurant is located in a 15th century building in historic Bayeux.

La Rapiere is seriously good! Three of us visited there on the first night of a four-day stay in Bayeux while visiting WW11 landmarks. We chose here following some research and a good look at the menus. We expected it to be an excellent meal and we weren't disappointed. We all ate from the E52 menu and all began with... More

I visited this restaurant with friends and the location, menu, wine list, ambience, décor is absolutely perfect. The gourmet or 'plaisir' menus are stunning and very good value with six or seven courses. Food is outstanding and although the wine prices are steep, they are of very high quality. Will DEFINITELY return

The food, staff, and atmosphere were perfect after a day of touring. While the menu was pricy, the food and atmosphere were fun and unique. The salted lamb was exquisite and the fish was fabulous. Our favorite meal while in town.

Fine dining restaurant. The food is well prepared and the menu is extensive enough (see foto's). Friendly service who are very willing to adapt the dishes in case of special needs. House wine is already of a decent quality.

We were lucky enough to get a reservation at this delightful and delicious spot for our last meal in Bayeux. Our expectations were high from reading previous reviews and we were NOT disappointed. In fact, our expectations were exceeded. We were greeted warmly by the lovely owner and treated so well being given perfect advice on our meal selections and... More

Having eaten at several high end places during our stay in Bayeux this was the most interesting with regard to flavors, in both mains and dessert. They have three levels of three course meals, and even though we took least expensive, since those dishes appealed the most, we not treated any different. When booking they had asked about allergies and... More

In fairness, we only had one night in Bayeux, so we cannot compare it to other well reviewed local options. That said, it was highly reviewed in advance of our visit, our guesthouse hosts said that it is probably the best place in town, and we were not disappointed. It started out scary when we were on route to the... More

This place is highly regarded for a reason. The excellent is served in very nice surroundings by professional waitstaff. Only place slightly better is Au Ptit Bistro. We had chicken breast, delicious perfectly cooked cod and fresh oysters. Ended with better than usual chocolate mousse. Only this night mostly English speaking tourists.
