A warm welcome. My husband and I have similar taste so chose, onion soup, poulet Alec sauce Normande and tart tatin. I questioned the Chardonnay wine, was it oaky? . The waiter said French Chardonnay was very nice and immediately brought me a sample. He was correct. The meal was very tasty and hot. Well cooked also. Would eat here... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and amazing desserts. We chose the classic Normand dishes and they were wonderful. The atmosphere is very cozy... There is outdoor seating but it was raining and we were inside in the homey dining room. The service was friendly and they happily tolerated our poor French which made us feel welcome.

This restaurant is on the pedestrian mall section of Rue St Jean in Bayeux. Easy to find. My wife and I opted to sit outside as it was sunny. Good pleasant service. We both selected a "menu" and went for identical items: onion soup, Normand chicken (in a very nice sauce), and creme brule. The little bit of home was... More

Not as elegant or as top quality dining as a couple nearby places, but it isn't meant to be. Nicely decorated in mix of modern and retro, nice selections on the menu, and all things considered a comfortable and pleasant experience. For the price, a very reasonable value. I'd have preferred soup a bit warmer but it was ok.

From the outside this place does not look all that special but we decided to chance it and found a little wonderland. We were seated to the rear of the restaurant and the service by Natalie and daughter Morgan was first class from start to finish. A Bordeaux de Blaye wine was recommended and turned-out an excellent choice (all three... More

Nice place. Had onion soup and large salads-both were good. Table wine was good. Overall, we had a pleasant meal in a nice location. Good value.

Excellent food and gracious, caring atmosphere. My husband and I each had boeuf bourguignon which was offered on the prix fixe menu that evening. A hearty meal of delightful flavors. The dessert, apple tarte tatin, was amazing. While dining outside the weather unexpectedly turned chilly and the owner immediately appeared with shawls for the patrons. It was as if we... More

Food was good, atmosphere quaint and service more than adequate. Nice place for a full meal or a quick bite. Staff was friendly and the meal did not cost an arm and a leg.

We visited Bayeux on a trip to Cherbourg. As it was mid January, a lot of the local restaurants were closed. Luckily we stumbled upon La Fringale. The food and service were excellent, and extremely good value for money. We will definitely return when back in the area.
