Idyllic setting beside the river for a peaceful restful lunch on the terrace. Unfortunately perhaps not for the other diners on the day we went with three boys under 4. The Terrace was however safe for toddlers and the staff very child friendly and there was a childrens' menu. The Gallettes were crunchy at the edges and loaded with filling.... More

I've come here each time I've been to Bayeux, and every time it's delicious. This place is always full (of locals!) from Thursday to Saturday, so if you're planning on coming on one of those nights, make reservations ahead of time. Weather permitting, get a table on the back patio. It feels like you've walked into a painting, what with... More

Simply put this place is a safe bet if you want good dinner and aren't having much luck. They specialize in buckwheat crepes, both savoury and not, but their entirely a la Carte menu has other options which satisfy your hunger without too much pain to your wallet - in that regard they're definitely better than some other restaurants in... Based on the other reviews, I made a reservation via email, several weeks before we left for Europe. I had no idea if they received by request or not, but was ever so pleasantly surprised to see my name at the top of the list when we got there. Way to go Le Moulin De La Galette. This is a... More

We sat outside on the terrace. So lovely to eat overlooking the canal/river and flowers. The food was good - galettes, fish - with the sole exception being my Viking salad which had a balsamic vinagrette dressing, which does not quite go with smoked salmon. Definitely reserve.

We enjoyed sitting outside with the pretty view of the river and the lovely breeze. Reservations are a must! When we arrived Bayeux was not very crowded and thought we wouldn't have a problem getting a table. The restaurant was packed and we needed to make a reservation for the following evening. The food was good. We liked everything we... More

On a Sunday evening, many other restaurants closed, so had to book ahead. Galettes were good. Average for vegetarian selection. If have to mark down it was because the tables were close together.

This restaurant is fantastic if you have a wheat allergy as galettes are made from buckwheat and thus are gluten free. There is a vast range to choose from. The pitcher of local cider was just the job on a hot sunny day as were the birds swimming on the adjacent river. It is very good value for money and... More

A TripAdvisor consultation a few weeks before our vacation magically identified this jewel as our driver led our family from a nearby car park towards the Tapestry Museum (after a morning at the American Cemetery). And there it was as beautiful as pictures here suggest. A varied menu to meet child, teen, and adult appetites alike, the food and atmosphere... More

Nice dinner and bottle of wine. While some large tour groups were also there, the service was very attentive. Surrounding view was picturesque with stream and water wheels.
