Had a fantastic lunch here in the sun. What can I say. The food is great, the service is relaxed and the owners are lovely. It's such a beautiful location. This month they are serving fresh Moules with white wine. I suggest the house red which is a lively merlot.

Ate here Friday night with 8 friends. The atmosphere is great. We enjoyed a glass of wine (or2) in the bar before we went through to eat. The food was 1st class as was the house red a merlot. As we were 9 we were sat in the back room which was a shame as we would have liked to... More

Owned by David and Sondrine. The food is rated highly, and one has to book a table in advance usually for a Friday or Saturday during the summer months. We have never been disappointed neither have friends or visitors of ours. They will cater for vegetarians.

I have eaten here many times. The food is fantastic with the meat and fish being cooked on a grill over coals in the fire. The menu is standard for this area but it's always cooked well. I had beef goulash rather than my normal steak last week and it was fantastic. Always a delight to eat here. There is... More

Le Krill, the only restaurant in a tiny hamlet in a valley tucked away. We had an evening meal here, 3 courses for 22€. We sat out with others on the terrace surrounded by plants and bric a brac. It was very colourful and different. Service was friendly and helpful. The quality of the cooking is very high. I had... More

While staying near Hambye we spotted a sign to Le Krill and made a mental note to find it and make a reservation for Sunday lunch. As it turned out, we ate there on the Friday night and again on the Sunday. Both meals were outstanding and the décor and atmosphere both artistic and quirky (hence reference to Totnes, Devon!).... On this visit we will only rate Le Krill with an average badge. The reasons behind it is the lack of food quantity available to punters. It was a special night for the pub, they had a band playing which was good but stopped early (9:30pm). The ambiance was good although a bit cramped. Remember this restaurant has always customers,... I am not sure that we'd ever choose to eat in a place with this name in UK, but Le Krill in La Balein turned out to be a real winner. The service was friendly and welcoming. We sat outside on a hot June afternoon and enjoyed a great meal. The starter was smoked meat produced just a few metres... More

Better than average, but not great. Informal, paper napkins. Don't sit with back to fire; you'll fry.
