Lovely place for a cup of tea and pastry. Excellent waiters and top knotch experience with nice plates with gold and silver cutlery. Must do in Lille!

One of the best Patisseries I've ever been to. Pretty expensive but well worth the money. Famous for their stuffed waffles (Gaufre) with vanilla. If you are in Lille, this place really deserves a visit!

The cake is awesome and so is the hot chocolate. It's probably one of the best in Lille. However, I've rarely experienced such unfriendly service people. No welcoming, no smile ... I felt like I have to excuse for being there. 2 points for cake and chocolate, that's all.

We came here for Sunday brunch, excited as we'd heard great things and also saw the amazing pastries in the shop window. It took 30minutes for the manager to take orders (of which there were two options: menu 1 or 2... we did not need that much time to decide) and we had to ask for the wine menu three... More

Traveling from Paris to Lille on our off day from the Euros I looked at the map for dinner places to eat my our hotel. Meert immediately jumped out. For somebody living in NYC the chance to eat at a place that was founded in the 1700's was too good to resist. On walking in we were impressed and taken... More

We arrived to buy wafers and ended up stopping to eat in the restaurant which had a small outdoor courtyard at the rear. The 3 course meal was very good indeed! Would definitely recommend it. The one thing that has not ceased to amaze me as we have eaten throughout France is the standard of food presented. This is excellent.You... More

We often pass by but usually the queues are far too long. We have always said, one day ! This day came Sunday, It was a dull afternoon with lots of football fans everywhere. We didn't have to wait at all. The pleasant waitress immediately cleared a table for us. The ambience of this place is amazing, very Belle Epoque.... More

This place has almost become a legend and should not be missed when visiting Lille. The main specialty are the teeth-rattlingly sweet vanilla-filled waffles and palmiers. The hot chocolate is also superb. Unfortunately there are huge queues especially at the weekend, and the service could be more friendly and swifter. They are victims of their own success!

We had been really excited to go here when we toured Roubaix near Lille. Unfortunately the service was just terrible. Both my wife and I ordered the Formule Express menu which was supposed to come with wine, a main dish, a dessert and coffee. It took forever for any of our dishes to come out and we had a hard... Meert is a "must see" in Lille's Old District, as much for its sweet pleasures as for its Louis XVI decor. The Chief and his team suggest recipes combining perfectly the creative tradition of Meert and produce from the market, carefully selected daily.
