Either as a couple or a large group of friends, Le Pot Beaujolais has consistently delivered good honest cooking, friendly host and a local Lille atmosphere. The quality of their food and excellent preparation (their steaks are the best we've had) combined with a sublime Beaujolais wine selection ensures our return visit every year for

If you are in Rijsel (Lille), please visit this one :) At the evening, when the shops are closed and it gets dark, it's time for some real city trip expiernce: outstanding french food & drinks. The waiters are super friendly, the place is very cosy and authentic, the food (oh my!) is wonderful. Please try Cote de boef for... More

We stumbled across this delightful restaurant after attending the magnificent Wales v Belgium quarter final in Lille. It was the perfect find. The food was simply incredible: delightful and imaginative local and regional dishes as well as some classics. The steak tartare was particularly good. And the wine list was fantastic as well, with an obvious bias towards Beaujolais. Service... More

I came to le Pot Beaujolais on a rainy January day and enjoyed having a delicious and generous plat du jour and wonderful red wine. Almost almost no one speaks any English (they found me the one waitress who did), the service was friendly and suggestions from the menu were excellent. The small, cosy restaurant was packed with locals enjoying... More

This restaurant came onto the horizon just as lunchtime hunger took hold, and other establishments were closing The patron could not have been more welcoming or helpful - the menu is simple, offering traditional food, perfectly cooked. The ambience is just what you would want in a small, cosy restaurant just off the main square. A real delight and a... More

Beautifully simple and filling. I had the special, slow cooked lamb and haricot beans. Arrived quickly, piping hot, and extremely tasty. The owner was superb and friendly. Genuinely interested in us and our day. Le cadre est magnifique Votre restaurant est vraiment agreeable

We were here with some collègues and we were expecting typical French food well done in this centre town restaurant: nothing like that! The aperitiv was terrible, the starters: salad with something on the top (goose or salami or ...) and main course decent but with banal garniture done without passion. The service was good and the wine medium (... More

We pitched up at 1.30pm so were lucky to be squeezed in at a table just vacated. (otherwise a reservation would be required). Not much to look at from the outside but the food and service were outstanding. All the other diners looked like local business types so I presume they know the area well and choose to eat here.... Nice friendly service, but out of a party of 8, more than half were disappointed with the quality of the food. The veal livers were satisfactory, as was the entrecote, but the salad mains were a large heap of lettuce (which looked like it had come from a supermarket bag) with 4 puffs topped with goats cheese). The meal wasn't... More

We arrived at 7 and had our choice of tables. The menus came over and our server discussed the choices with us. Between my tourist French and his limited English I had a pretty good idea of the dishes. Many of the dishes involved organ meats prepared in different ways. We stuck with a traditional rib steak for two done... More
