A lovely couple will host you in their restaurant, serving fine gourmet french food and gives you a very wide of good french wines.

This restaurant has a good service ethos, led by a husband and wife team with an additional one or two staff. We enjoyed a very good three course meal. The cuisine is French with a leaning towards 'nouvelle' cuisine. We were very pleased to discover this restaurant in the centre of Dunkirk and will certainly return.

We booked a meal for five on a December Saturday and were very pleased with the choice of Le Marmiton. Three of us from Kent met friends from Scotland who were on holiday in Belgium, so Dunkirk seemed to be an ideal meeting point for lunch. The options in this town on a winter weekend are limited so, based on... More

I booked Le Marmiton on the basis of it's Trip Advisor rating when I was looking for a decent place for lunch, prior to catching a ferry back to the UK. We were not disappointed. There is ample parking outside the front of the restaurant (free on a Sunday) which was particularly nice as the weather was filthy. The restaurant... More

It was a Saturday lunchtime and very busy and ultimately noisy. Booking was imperative. Id been here several times before as it is conveniently close to a relative's apartment. However, Place Jean d'Arc has lots of metered parking for those who do not walk to it. The decoration is a bit dark and the ambience would be improved by the... More

We held a special family lunch here for 16. I arranged it in English from overseas. The owner Jean-Pierre was very helpful in organising the event, ensuring English speaking staff served us and catering for our needs including children and vegetarian meals. We had our own private area which personalised the event. Food was tasty, hot and beautifully presented. Highly... More

Did not pre book but was made to feel very welcome, although it was very busy. My French is limited, but we managed, escargot and salad to start, wow it was very special, my pal had tomato salad, it also looked good, my main was strips of duck cooked medium in a orange type sauce OMG it was so good,... The good reviews for this restaurant are well deserved. Not only was the food delicious and reasonably priced but they were very helpful with my request for gluten free food. The waitress checked with the chef and came back with suggested alterations to the menu for me. I always appreciate when people make extra effort like this, it shows that... More

Three friends passing through for one night on a sailing trip. The restaurant is a little hidden but worth it. We had the tasty duck main and various starters and desserts which were all tasty and we'll presented. Pleasant hosts and Bob especially says thanks.
