A brilliant culinary experience. The Chef's menu is innovative yet realistic and the recommended accompanying wines are well chosen, including less well known ones. Very good service by a young team who clearly want you to have a great experience. It is expensive but worth it.

The restaurant is beautifully presented and the waiting staff charming. Most speak good English although the menu is only in French. It wasn't quite clear to us that it was a choice of two taster menus. We only deduced that from the menu with the price on. We opted for the full 7 course taster menu which turned out to... More

We visited this place on a hot Day in July for lunch. All five of us ordered the set midi menu for 28€. The food, prepared from simple raw materials (entrée was a soft boiled egg), was exquisitely prepared, looked wonderful on the plate and tasted great. The service was exceptional and attentive. The chef deserves the 1 star Michelin... More

My wife and I had a three day vacation in Toulouse and I semi-randomly picked up this choice from the 1 michelin stars restaurants in town. Overall we had a good experience; The staff was polite and spoke good English, even if the service was somewhat chaotic; There was one young waitress, in particular, who didn't seem to know what... We are great fans of Michelin one star restaurants, especially those recently given the star, Inventive food, well chosen wine, not as fussy as those with more stars. Unfortunately, Le Py-R didn't measure up. As four Americans, we were given a table next to the kitchen, but this isn't the first time this has happened and we usually ignore that.... More

Fine dining at its best. The food was fabulous--our 4(?) course tasting menu must have included 18 different items. The setting is down a tiny street and in a cellar, but once inside, the epitome of restrained elegance. The waitstaff was superb. This is a MUST for foodies visiting the area. It's small--be sure to make a reservation.

A fellow traveller told us this was the best food they had ever eaten so we booked a table and set off. However, things went badly from the start and never really recovered. Their first mistake was to leave a restaurant guide book on the table with their own review book marked, as if we did not know where we... More

I came here as a treat while visiting Toulouse with my girlfriend. Neither of our French is particularly good but the staff all were really helpful in describing what things were if we couldn’t translate something. We ordered the tasting menu, and I would recommend you do the same. The number of dishes and the portion sizes were just right,... More

To celebrate a birthday in Toulouse we booked a table at the Py-R, one of Toulouse's newest Michelin starred restaurants. It was quite simply incredible food...in a wonderfully atmospheric dining room. We opted for the €68 menu which comprised 4 amuse bouches (les petites surprises), 2 starters, 2 mains and 3 desserts. Each plate was both beautiful on the eye... More
