I am from Metz and had the chance to dine at Le Petit Frontalier 3 times and every time was just an outstanding experience! The restaurant is small and cozy which I like, we are warmly welcome by everybody. The Chef is young and passionate by gastronomy which we can see and feel in our dishes! They only serve daily... Our two families with 4 young kids and a baby visited Metz for a short weekend trip, and we booked ourselves a table at Le Petit Frontalier for dinner. When we arrived, it occurred to us that it didn't appear to be a family restaurant. Despite lacking kids meals, the chef whipped up something for our kids (with french fries... More

Went there and had the dinner menu, fantastic tartarre and crepes flambees. Restaurant is pretty small and provides good service. I would always return.

When looking on the website , I didn't think the decor looked very inviting. How wrong I was. The food was amazing, the wine choices were very good, and the waiter was fantastic. at the end of the meal, the chef came out to greet the diners, which was a lovely touch. I had a wonderful meal.

With a long drive back to the UK from Italy we made a stop over in Metz for the evening and booked Le Petit Frontalier for dinner. Located an easy 5 min walk from the Cathedral. Although it was Wed evening - the restaurant with 95% full. We received a warm welcome and selected the fixed menu at €30 per... More

We booked this place upon its high placing in TA. This restaurant is a good 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral. As we could not speak French, the 'young' chef came and explained to us the menu. I ordered the set meal at €30 - a very good starter (think it's pig's cheek), white fish in curry celery 'risotto' for... More

WOW! A great young chef has created a calm, lovely venue with creative and amazingly tasty food. We enjoyed every dish and marvelled both at the variety (on a small, seasonal menu) and the quality of the ingredients. This is a light and perfectly presented cuisine. The feeling is local, but polished without being overly formal. The interior has the... More

This restaurant specialises in seasonal and regional food. From the suggestions of the day I chose fresh asparagus with ham served with a little salad, followed by a delicious and beautifully cooked piece of roe deer accomplished by sautéed veggies. I finished the meal with little "streusels" of mirabelle served with homemade ice cream. The meal was washed down with... More

I've been traveling around France for the last 5 weeks and eaten some very nice meals. This restaurant rates up there with the best I've had. Service was great, they tolerated my attempts at French (its not good!) and everything was done with a smile. Can't speak highly enough and if I'm ever back in this part of the world,... More

Dropped in one Monday evening. Very quiet so a bit worried. Should not have been. Some of the most tasty beautifully presented food I have ever had . Menu is short but has enough choice. Quietly efficient front of house. Excellent range of beers if that's your thing. E140 for 3 courses and drinks for 4. Would go again at... More
