It was almost 9 PM Sunday, the France vs. Portugal EuroCup Soccer match was about to begin when we arrived at the restaurant. I mention this because I think it might have been the ripple in the pond. The interior of L'Excelsior is beautiful, almost a Great Gatsby look: high ceiling painted gold & white, large windows (all open to... More

This place is a classic Parisienne bistro in the heart of Nancy. My wife and I absolutely loved both the beautiful art deco surroundings and everything we ate. It serves the classic dishes including the huge 'fruit du mare' platters, foie Gras, etc etc. Service is great and was at a nice pace. It is not cheap, but we both... More

We stopped there and had our coffee before boarding our train back to Strasbourg. Great architecture and good ambiance. Coffee was nice and staff were helpful. Part of a trip to Nancy, especially if you like their style of decoration and architecture.

Great menu, setting and staff made the evening memorable. Price is right. If you are in Nancy for only one meal, have it here.

This is the way every brasserie should be in France. Good food. All the traditional french dishes, good and attentive service and a place full of art-deco atmosphere. Not to be missed when in Nancy!

My brother took us for a dinner and it was pretty nice. The service was excellent, one guy was really friendly and took a really good care of us despite that he was alone on the floor and he had many tables. Food wasn't bad but nothing special comparing to the high price that we paid.
