This was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. A local bistro 10 minutes walk from Place Stanislas which was recommended by our hotel. Friendly and accommodating host with some English and good recommendations. The menu was on a large slate board and a broad but not extensive selection which one would expect for a bistro. The food was superb. Rabbit and liver... More

Finding ourselves hungry after an exhausting tour of the nearby historical museum (Musée Lorrain), we decided to have lunch at this small welcoming bistro located in the old city and that served traditional food. And we were not disappointed. Choosing from dishes listed on a moveable blackboard was a dilemma, as there was such a variety. We finally elected to... More

Just had an amazing lunch at this beautiful bistro. Crowds of locals tell you it is good place to be. We had confit of duck and a dish of grilled white fish - both meals were superbly presented and tasted even better than they looked! With a small beer and a 50 cl of white wine the cost of 43€... We were quite early and were not greeted by the patron (who did actually come along later to check that all was well) but by a rather grumpy lady. Luckily we were actually looked after by a different, rather charming lady. The food was excellent, the wine good (but not cheap, but then Nancy is not cheap) and we had... More

Located at the end of the old town close to the ancient gate in the Grande rue, but definitely worthwhile the walk. Restaurant is packed with locals, which is always a good sign. Lovely informal terrace, and an excellent (French cusine) 3-course menu at 28 Euro, deserving a Michelin star. Good selection of wines. Reservation required.

The kitchen is reasonable, the food is not as pretentious one is used to in France, but the owner is impertinent.

we came across this Bistro one evening after eating dinner. It was packed but we decided to come back for lunch the next day. The food is excellent with a good choice of wines by the glass and atmosphere is buzzing. It is essential to book ahead. The Maitre D' speaks a bit of English but no Franglais (he couldn't... More
