Finally, on the last night of our stay, a French restaurant that lives up to expectations! We didn't hold much hope out for getting a table here as there were reservations everywhere. But they squeezed us in after a short wait and were clearly keen to not lose out on custom. Compared to some of the other experiences we'd had... More

I really don't know why this restaurant is in the top of Limoges! 2 apple-juices € 6,-, one bottle of water € 5,-. A small glass of wine is € 3,80 and that was normal wine of the region (table wine). Small portions and no single smile of the waitress. If the food was good, I had no comment. The... More

No nonse bistro. Good traditional food. Limited winelist. Quality is very good. Don't expect fine elegant plates. Make reservation. Very busy place with hard working (almost running) staff.

The menu list is really typically Limoges bistro with Black Boudin, choux farcis, veal head and cod brandade It is rustic and "bonne franquette" with peoples talking together from different tables The restaurant's room is the same since many years and could be renovated but like this ti has a kind of charm!

As so often the trip from Paris to Limoges on the day before Black Saturday took longer than expected. But all of the first day of vacation blues were forgotten when we sat at Chez Alphonse and had our first vacation dinner. Bistro fare as we like it, from the confit de canard and entrecote with bearnaise sause to the... More

We visited here whilst on holiday in Bujaleuf. We swerve allocate a table outside which is practically on a table on the pavement with passers by walking past your table constantly. Waiter was friendly and pleasant. Menu was limited with no English translations available. Partners main of local beef was quite tough and rubbery and served with a equally dry... More

The restaurant recommended by our hotelier was closed on a Monday so we were at a loss as to where to eat. We happened upon this place and were so glad we did! The food is typically French but not pretentious, the portions good. If you like boring British food and if your child is a fussy eater then this... More

Nice small restauarant in the center of the city beside the markethall. Make shure you make a reservation cause people queue up to get a place. To food is delicious and the wines are good. Go there!

The terrace is not very appealing. And the resaturant looks like a simple French bistrot. But Alphonse welcomes every gueast himself. What a host! And what a white brigade! The Tournedos sauce au poivre nears perfection. And the wines? Ofcourse. Heavenly. When in Limoges go and visit Alphose for a meal. But do book in advance, because Alphonse has made... More

A quintessential French restaurant which specialises in meat. Veal, great Limousin beef, duck, quail and more. The house wine was actually not bad and the desserts were great. Massive communal bowl of chocolate mousse and a creme brûlée. But my highlight was the onglet steak and the potatoes.
