A lift takes diners to a covered balcony .The view is pretty rooftops against ,in our case, a delicious blue sky . Food arrived promptly with a smile and we enjoyed reasonably priced wine while enjoying above average food

Before going to Uzes we had looked at the local tourist guide and Lonely Planet and we selected La Parenthese on the basis of it appearing in the Michelin and Gault & Millau Guides and recommended in Lonely Planet. We went for lunch and selected the €31 meal after discovering the the Menu Surprise was only available in the evenings.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the rooftop terrace. The service is excellent, although very French. The filet de boeuf was stunning, as were the escargot. The latter were somewhat uniquely served. The swordfish kebabs were great, but the gazpacho was a bit "normal". Elegant and nice.

We had a Thursday night dinner in the packed (and overflowing) ground floor restaurant and a leisurely lunch on the lovely roof terrace on Friday. The owners of the hotel/restaurant are experienced restauranteurs and currently have a fine young chef doing the heavy lifting. The selections are somewhat limited; after all it is a very small place. But they are... More

We had some expectations when visiting this restaurant in mid-July 2015. With a red Michelin-sticker on the door, what could possibly go wrong? But, oh la la, what a waste of money: entré: supposedly cold melon-soup was lukewarm, main courses (my wife had brochette de thon with far too many sesame grains and I had a very dry piece of... We stayed one night in this hotel and loved it and returned the next night to try out the restaurant. Absolutely impeccable service and creative, innovative dishes. Probably the best meal we had in Uzes over 12 days of dining out for lunch and dinner. The pictures speak for themselves. The food was as divine as the pictures show. We... More

We have spent our yearly evening at La Parenthese. A tradition we never miss at our yearly vacation down in southwest France. The reason for this beeing a tradition is the superb food, the super nice and fiendly reception and the great service all through the dinner. Come here with a smile on your face and you'll experience an evening... More

We were in Uzes for a holiday and decided to eat here because it was close to our rental and was mentioned in the Michelin Guide. The food was absolutely the worst we have had during our stay in this lovely town. Poorly executed dishes, below average wine, and high prices are more than enough reasons to avoid this place.... Ask Michelin for restaurants in wonderful Uzes, France, and Hostellerie Provençale pops up first, with its Parenthese resto. Perhaps the upper terrace is a special experience, but we were there on a rainy evening -- and the dining room at street level is crowded and stuffy with small hard chairs. We really enjoyed the recommended local red wine, but the... More

We had a really enjoyable meal here June 3, 2014. We were seated on the third floor terrace (reached by elevator) and found it enchanting to watch the light fade as the many swallows swooped over the old tile roofs. We had the menu at 37 euros which included a complementary slice of a foie gras, egg loaf topped with... More
