We came across this gem down a side street in the historic quarter of Perpignan while visiting the Visa image exhibitions. We were greeted with friendly, efficient service in this shady courtyard. The daily tapas menu offered a good selection with interesting options. We especially enjoyed the jambon, noix St Jacques and the delicious creme catalan, with Catalunyan beer and... More

We have often eaten lunch here, and find the food consistently good, but the setting evenmore so! Its very busy in the height of the season, so booking is essential. Only negative being the very basic toilet facilities.

While visiting Perpignan for the annual Visa pour l'Image photo festival, we've sampled many of the town's resturants. But Le Fig is the one we keep going back to. The setting - under fig trees up a small side street, away from the crowds - is an oasis of tranquillity. Service is enthusiastic and efficient. And the food is consistently... More

We a family of four stumbled across this restaurant during the very busy Visa image week, the place was bussing but the reception was welcoming. Sitting in its shady square was lovely as it was a very hot day. Good variety of choices to suit all budgets on the menu, we went for tapas starters which were all excellent and... More

Le Figuier was recommended by a girl at our Hotel (Nyx) as a restaurant she goes to and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. She drew us a great map of how to find it and that certainly helped. It was very informal and we arrived early while the staff were eating their dinners. No trouble as they let us sit... More

Provided you are not in a rush this place is perfect. Set in the centre of Perpignan amongst the cobbled streets. I doubt you can drive to it but walking to it is simple enough. Service is informal and friendly and they didn't stress about kids playing around etc. Food really enjoyable and tried some great local wines.

Food: very tasty and fresh. Go for the beef tartare royale with seared foie gras in top! The ginger aïoli that came with the bread is to die for! Even their cafe gourmand is home made. Ambiance: shaded terrasse surrounded by some bamboo trees with some breeze running through. Perfect even in hot days. Location: 7 min walks from the... More

Some of the best food we had during our two weeks in perpignan Chiperones were our of this world as was duck stuffed with goats cheese. The only thing they need to work on is their service. They had the same three staff on a tuesday as a Friday and they couldn't cope. Three times we asked for the desert... More

Finding Le Figuier proved to be quite a challenge. Just remember 2 nearby landmarks i.e. Cathedrale St Jean Baptiste and Casa Xanxo. You order from the "tableau" menu. Everything is explained to you if the tapas names look unfamiliar. Service is prompt and we found the 4 tapas we ordered to in decent quantity, presentation and quality. We were out... More
