This was our first time eating at this restaurant. I had the steak, which was the best I'd ever had in my life. Cooked to perfection. It was so good that for the rest of our vacation in France, we occasionally mentioned the steak and almost started drooling just by the memory. When I go to Nimes again one day,... More

Classical French bistro food. Limited selection, 5 starters, 5 mains and 5 desserts on a board, for 22€ or 26€ if you have foie gras. The foie gras and the pork were good (we added a little salt here and there), the desserts (pear gratin and tartelette au praliné) were rather disappointing. Excellent value and friendly staff.

Sylvie is a dynamo. Her one woman restaurant served up a fantastic lunch for the two of us. We split the €22 pre-fix menu du jour and upped for the four euro supplemental foie gras. The foie gras was served with an onion confit and a balsamic vinegar reduction. Both were necessary to complement the best foie gras we've ever... More

It would have been easy to miss this small restaurant in a narrow street on a damp evening, and it isn't very prepossessing from the outside. There aren't many tables, but the food is excellent and the service is friendly. Try not to miss it.

Trying a restaurant for the first time is always a gamble. But, we were hungry and spotted Le Menestral a way down a narrow street. The place looked unpretentious, clean and inviting so we took our places at a table. We were greeted with the friendliest of smiles by a woman who turned out to be proprietor, chef and waitress.... This is a small restaurant where the owner cooks and serves the food with a real passion. The food is excellent and the service also top class. I dropped my knife and before I could retrieve it she had appeared from nowhere with a replacement. How one person can do all this in such calm and professional way just amazes... More

The singular woman who was working (and probably owned the place) was at once a gracious host, an accommodating waiter, and a superb chef. Not the slightest bit touristy and a place I will be sure to visit again in my next trip to Nimes

We had the 3 course formule for 22€ and thought the whole meal was gorgeous. I had mussels persilade, the flavours were delicious. We both had bavette main course, perfect, juicy meat, with daupnoise potatoes, the best I've ever had. We got the recipe from Madame. Pannacotta with fleur d'orange for dessert, divine. We talked about it all day. Lovely... More

We stumbled upon this delightful restaurant and were very happy with the food and service. The mussels were so tasty! Would highly recommend dining here. The host was lovely, too!

This little restaurant, tucked away in La Rue des Greffes in Nîmes is an absolute gem. It has only a few tables inside and out, but those who stop to eat here will not be disappointed. It is run by one lady who is host, chef and waitress and serves delicious food from her handwritten blackboard menu. The dishes are... More
