While I appreciated the owner’s kindness during the ordering process, my overall experience at this Asian restaurant was less than satisfying. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the authentic flavors I expected from Vietnamese or Chinese cuisine. The nems, although bearing different names,...lacked the usual taste and texture I associate with them, and the shrimp chop suey and chicken dishes were notably bland. I hope they can improve the quality of their dishes in the future. .More

Finely decorated, pleasant furniture and tableware. Prompt, friendly and professional service. For starters, steam boiled dumplings and fried pork ravioli, very good and in plentiful quantity. Main courses, we ordered 3 for 4 persons, shrimp sauté, chicken caramel and a house speciality, the Bun Bo...Hanoi. All in good quantity, all were good. The Bun Bo excellent and served in a bowl a very generous quantity, largely more than one person can eat. We ordered a rice portion, as side dish, which turned out to be unnecessary. Dessert, banana flambéed au rhum and config ginger, more than one person can have. Unfortunately there is no draft beer, only an extremely limited choice between a chinese and a vietnamese beer. Price about 35€/person. We fully recommend.More

One of the few best authentic Vietnamese food I’ve ever had in France. Home made with lots of love. The service was also very attentive and kind. Highly recommend

Superb family cooking! Wonderful authentic vietnamese food - all freshly made so sometimes service is slow. Tasty soups and crispy "egg rolls". The brothers are very friendly and happy to explain the foods and their traditions. Take out is also wonderful. A sure bet for...lunch or dinner.More

It’s upsetting to criticise what appears to be a family restaurant but here goes ..... A few friends together in Nimes for one night, one of the group thought Vietnamese restaurants were good in France and persuaded the others to try HANOI since it had...good TripAdvisor reviews and ratings.... big mistake! Should have guessed something was wrong when we walked in, completely empty, except for a very young girl of maybe 12 years old looking after what looked like a one year old infant who was crying. Really we should have just turned around then but unfortunately having walked from the other side of town to this less attractive area, we opted to at least have starters and one dish. The girl and baby looked to be part of the owners family and I expected them to perhaps leave the restaurant with the arrival of customers, but no, they remained in a corner with the baby intermittently crying. We ordered some drinks and starters ... and then to my horror, the young girl took the baby onto the floor, and changed its nappy in the restaurant in front of us. I could go on but suffice to say the staters were slow arriving, especially considering the restaurant was empty, and when it came it was standard heavy coated deep fried items, completely ordinary. We eat and paid to get out of there as fast as possible, before heading back to the attractive streets of central Nimes to find a main course, but the experience did rather ruin the evening.More

Read the previous reviews and ordered the Vietnamese salad with crab, my husband the palm hearts with crab salad. Wow it didn’t disappoint, so fresh in the mouth and flavourful. Generous portions. For main the Hanoi special beef dish, so full of umami flavour, definitely...recommend a visit if you’re in Nimes, but get there early as dishes cooked to order and it’s only the proprietor’s wife doing all the cooking so you may have to wait, but worth it.More

A typic Vietnamese restaurant in which he food is good and they serve it to you with a true smile. I took the set menus and it was also good for the money they ask for. Keep it up!

We were unimpressed by many of the Plat du Jour offerings in the Old Town and decided to try Hanoi Restaurant. This Vietnamese restaurant was delightfully calm and tranquil in the July heat. The Vietnamese salad was refreshing, Mushroom and pork vermicelli noodles, and the...Cantonese fried rice provided a very inexpensive and flavoursome lunch. The service was excellent. Definitely worth the walk and highly recommended.More

I had to order a bowl of phô when I saw it on the menu. Even though the service is so but I did not care at all, I was happy to wait. The end result was extremely satisfying. Delicious.

I am Vietnamese and I recommend this place if you want to taste something really "Vietnam". Good place, nice decoration, warm and friendly service! You have to wait about 20 to 30 minutes to have your command but it's worth to waiting.

Currently hard to find, located behind a square under construction next to l'Eglise St Charles, rue Gambetta. Owner/proprietor was very welcoming, but the staff include only himself, his wife and mother (the cooks) so service was slow. Prices were moderate, and the food tasty and...plentiful but not outstanding. I did appreciate, however, inclusion of a delicious salad, something too often neglected elsewhereMore

Coming from a Vietnamese background ourselves, we've been cautious about trying Vietnamese food in Europe but Hanoi was a great surprise. Owned and operated by a Vietnamese family, the food is tasty, good value for money and the staff are very friendly. We'd recommend a...visit for good fresh and delicious food.More
