I really enjoyed my meal at Café de la Comedie. I had my first taste of cassoulet and it was divine:) It was a good sized portion, served piping-hot and full of flavour. The atmosphere was great - very relaxed and easy-going - and I shared a few words with the very friendly owner before I left.

This is a beautiful restaurant hidden in one of the smaller roads in Carcassonne. We ate there twice and were not disappointed. Their onion soup is awesome and the staff are very friendly.

We were in carcassonne for four night and eat here for three nights. What a find, lovely atmospheric old French style restaurant. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and spoke very good English. The food was excellent, especially the burger mansion, it was the best burger, so succulent with goats cheese and fries to die for. My husband enjoyed... More

Dropped in as it was busy even though around half were Brits. Popular restaurant with a good choice of food. Both of us had salads, one a roquefort and the other salmon, which were good sized and excellent. Be prepared for a little noise although this is more than made up by the food.

I love Carcassonne, so to find this little gem down a small side street was a real joy. We were very warmly welcomed and were spoken to a little in English, not expected as we speak enough to get by in a restaurant. I ordered the prawns 'gammbas'. I wasn't quite sure what I was getting them with - I... More

Place Marcou is the main square surrounded by bars & restaurants & is the hub of life in the bastide (modern part of Carcassonne), but it can get a bit hectic, with curt service when it's busy, high prices and not a lot generally in the way of quality. The locals all seem to have their favourite bar - I... More
