Having visited the town many times in the last 20 years, I can honestly say this restaurant does not make the cut. We visited in the evening, ordered the grilled prawns and the monkfish. The monkfish was fine, but the sole flavour was garlic. The accompanying vegetables were overcooked, and seemed microwaved. No flavour. There were only four prawns! borderline... More

We ate here twice - one lunch, one dinner - and both times enjoyed great service and super-fresh ingredients. I particularly recommend the Turbot for 2, and the duck. 3 courses with an aperitif & wine came to about 130 euros, which we thought was reasonable given the position. There are about 8 restaurants in the square, which is the... More

Great recommendation by a French chef back home. Everything was perfect... the setting, the server, and the food. Not one dish was a disappointment. I had escargot as my appetizer and had never seen what I was served. Escargot is usually land snails, but they served sea snails. And, they were fresh... the meat was still attached to the shell!... We had a good evening here. The food was excellent with some very reasonable choices from the blackboard or menu. The waiter was very friendly. They brought a basket of fresh bread to go with the delicious fish meals.

FRESH seems to be a good word here. All their products seem to me to be of tip top quality. This means of course that when you order, you have to be prepared for a short wait as the products are freshly prepared / cooked as the case may be. With 2 Australian friends we had a lovely meal with... More

Having spent a few nights in Aigues Mortes and eaten at different restaurants on each evening, we finally decided to try a fish evening, we were not disappointed, the service was good the food, well cooked, fresh and served with a smile. It will not be the last time we eat there.

We went for dinner on our first night in Aigues Mortes because it appeared in TA and was tipped as reliable by locals. Fish soup lacked taste, monkfish tails and sauce likewise. All in all, not a great start to our three day stay. However the local vin de sable was good.

At Café du Commerce we had the chance of tasting the delicious Camargue's typical recipies. A real value-for-money restaurant. We went there for a lunch at Easter day and we had the 21€ menu which was rich either in quantity and in the food selection (all the fish was fresh). I can recommend the fish-soup and the fried soles, accompanied... More

"Charming service, freshest fish, shellfish and crustacea; in the main square of one of the most charming and unspoilt little fortified villages in France. Much loved by locals".
