Amazing food artfully prepared by the owner. Each dish was delicious. Ask and they are happy to pair wine to complement the meal you have ordered.
Darius and Nathaniel speak perfect English and were fantastic hosts to our group of weary travellers. The tomato, mozzarella and basil salad was a great starter. A second course of perfectly baked four cheese tart washed down with champagne made for a heavenly introduction to...French cuisine. Darius recommended the Mater et Filii champagne which we thoroughly enjoyed. For something local the bull stew is a good bet for meat lovers.More
Absolutely delicious food. We tried the Goose pate appetizer which melted in your mouth. Then had Herring fish, which i was nervous about since i worried about it tasting fishy but i could not tell it was fish at all, my husband had the Pork...sausage and declared it the best. All dishes were authentically French and had new tastes which we we loved.More
We came here for an anniversary lunch and were very happy with our meals. The food is mostly classic French dishes, well prepared, with generous servings at a reasonable price for Versailles. Our lunch of starter, main and dessert was 26 euros per person. There...are many choices for each course of the meal and the wine selection was really excellent. The waiter helps you select your wine, which is euros 6.50 per glass. Our wines were very well matched with our dishes. We had a glass of champagne each, the menu, a large bottle of sparkling water, a glass of wine with our meal and a coffee and the bill was 93 euros. Very filling. Time for a nap.More
Choose the restaurant off TA due to the excellent reviews. It was a little further from the town than I thought, 5 mins, so not an issue. Short crisp menu - excellent range, sublime food. The best meal we had in France Charming owner /...sommelier - guided us by what I was after not off the list. Superb bottle of Santenay and at €40, exactly what I would have spent. He read me right. Given a glass of cool sweet red dessert wine, Maury, on the house to round the meal off. Mix of French and the odd tourist. Quite location in a side street Excellent English from the team As I say, cannot fault it - go thereMore
After leaving Versailles we were cold and tired. The food was fantastic and the service even better. Our waiter and the rest of staff were so attentive it was hard to believe.
My wife and I traveled here on our honeymoon, based on the reviews from this website. We did not have reservations. We called on a weekday morning inquiring about grabbing a table that night, and the owners were able to accommodate. We are very lucky...that we normally eat around 7 - if you are VERY lucky like us, you may be able to do as we did. This restaurant, for me, encapsulates everything I hoped to find when coming to France. Small, cozy and friendly. Walls decorated with a vintage wine collection, and the air smelling of whatever fresh food was concocted on this day, along with a breathtaking array of freshly made desserts just waiting to be eaten. Every single bite of every dish we ordered was mouth-wateringly delicious. We've never had anything like this in our lives. The unbelievable cheeses (with wine pairings for an appetizer), along with the rich, smooth and delectable pig-cheek dinner(bacon, cream, fingerlings from heaven), and my perfectly seasoned and cooked steak, I would have this meal every day for the rest of my life, OR, better yet, if we won the lottery, we would move to Versailles and live next to Le Sept and have a permanent table. I am telling you, you will not have a better meal in France. We paid only 75 Euros for the two of us (dessert, wine included), and so we tipped handsomely like we would back in Canada - and still.. it didn't feel like I was paying enough. 100/10 stars.More
I was traveling in Europe and meet two friends at this lovely restaurant. It is a treasure. I felt like we were in the beautiful home of dear friends. The food was amazing and the wine was soulful. Please, go out of your way to...visit this lovely establishment.More
We loved this local spot and were lucky to snag a table on a Thursday night. Be sure to make a reservation to guarantee you will be able to enjoy the delicious cuisine and local atmosphere, all perfectly paired with a bottle of wine. Set...prices for the 2-3 menu selections are fantastic, especially considering the quality of flavor. The cheese soufflé, Bavette, and fruit pie topped all my meals in France!More
I actually found this restaurant in an article on Versailles best eats, and although I love fine dining (when I'm not actually hungry), I lean more towards places like this when exploring new corners of the earth. I made a reservation about a month out...via email, as the restaurant is very small. However, after spending time in Paris for a few days and being unsuccessful with finding decent food and service, my expectations quickly started to sink when it came to the one place I had reserved for my trip to Versailles. Well, this little neighborhood restaurant strongly performed! Let me preface this with adding that outside of saying Bonjour and the occasional Merci, I don't speak a lick of French (lesson learned), it started raining during my walk from the hotel; so I'm sure when I finally arrived I looked like a wet dog ,and came off like a pushy American only speaking English. Nonetheless, I was graciously greeted by a host (discovered later he was the owner), and sat to a table (goal number one accomplished). Flor (the owner) came by the table with the menu and proceeds to describe in English and with great detail every item on the menu (unheard of in France). After choosing our courses, he then confirms whether we are having wine as well. Never saw a wine menu, but he reappears with two bottles in his hands and asks us to try what he's just poured - I mean this guy is genius. Everything about the dinner was impeccably done, I couldn't have asked for a more authentic venue and a better execution. Bravo Le Sept! Have no reservations about visiting this fine restaurant (but do make a reservation)!More
A small restaurant in part of Versailles near the market area. A fabulous dinner we had choice of entre, delicious scallops and leeks and dessert for 28 Euros. Other plat choices were all 26 euros. From a wide selection of wines about 30-35 euros a...white tobsuit our choices and price range was suggested. It was a fabulous wine and made the evening magical. Staff tried hard to understand our limited French and translate when possible! Reservation required if you want a table!More
The food is perfect! Hosts are indeed ingaging and friendly ( not usual in france) and bill was unbielavable). 4 starters, 3 main course, 3 desserts and 1 bottle of perfect sovinion blanc, - just 125 euro. Defenetley recommend!
Excellent food and wine. Owner and staff took their time in explaining all the menu in English and what would be the best wine to have. Would definitely return if there again. Do book!
If you're in the area, I wouldn't hesitate or if you have means to a car. I was extremely appreciative of the server who translated the entire board menu into English for us. That was so nice. And the food was very good as was...the wine. It's a small authentic bistro type. That said, it's a ways from the palace or if you are staying at a hotel near the palace so when we walked, it was quite a walk so we got a cab back because we knew we'd be walking around Versailles forever. I'd return if we were nearby.More
