Discovered this place via TripAdvisor. We really enjoyed our lunch here. The toasted bread with 2 types of cheese is huge, but also delicious. I took a salad, which was also big and very good. Service is great too, and it isn't expensive at all (total bill was around 32 euros: food + 4 drinks) Would recommend this place!

The staff is friendly but we had to wait 45 min to get our booked table.... The quality is disappointing and all the ingredients stated in the menu were not in the plate. It gave the feeling to be a " microwaves" cuisine.

This place has a very chilled-out environment and great food. Portions are quite big but even so, we were able to finish everything. Food is really tasty and typically southern French. Will definitely comeback on my next visit to Paris.

Was our best lunch is France, they have a lunch menu with Starter + Main plate + Coffee or Main plate + Dessert + Coffee for 13 euros. The food is delicious and totally worth the price! I posted the photos, they don't speak English very well but they really tried to explain us each detail from menu, and there's... More

When we discovered that a renown Montparnasse restaurant wasn't open until later in the evening, we settled for a walk through the cemetery and ventured into Chez Papa for an early dinner. It was an awesome experience! With "south west" French country style cuisine, the portions were large and tasted absolutely delicious! What I appreciated most was that the owner... More

Note that this review concerns the Chez Papa in Montparnasse, there is another restaurant with the same name as well. I think they are famous fro it's duck but they had many other french dishes on the meny. I had the veal with potatoes and mushroom sauce and my boyfriend had duck filet with potatoes and leek, both meals we... More

We ate from the €13 lunch menu and opted for a main and dessert rather than starter. We both ordered the chicken gratin pie. It was delicious and very generously sized. The desserts were equally as delicious and generously sized. The staff were lovely, very friendly and made the effort to speak English for us. We sat outside and enjoyed... More

A typical place we would recommend if you want to taste French southwestern food : prices are highly affordable considering the size of the plates (and how difficult it is to finish), and food representative of the region. The restaurant is not big but they have a small terrace facing a quiet enough street. If you have a car you... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
