Simply wonderful! Having visited Brittany, I know the homey delight of a Breton galette, so when the Paris by Mouth newsletter recommended this cafe, I put it on my list. I was not disappointed! I had the Bretonne galette (a classic combination of flavors full of umami), a delicious dry pear cider, and a special dessert crepe with pear, chocolate, ginger, and vanilla ice cream (plus another cider!). Everything was phenomenal and as good as anything I had in Brittany. The flavors were all beautifully complementary and the portions allowed me to get both a savory and a sweet crepe, plus two drinks. I easily got a table on a Monday night in March without a reservation, and my waiter was polite, attentive, and informative to a solo diner with awkward, rusty French. (I appreciated that he *asked* if I would prefer English instead of assuming.) I also appreciate that the cafe is open early and late and all day, so if you are eating at an unconventional time, it’s there for you! And the prices are right — you can easily get out of there for 20-25€ if you only get one crepe and one drink. I also applaud the goal of the restaurant to help preserve Breton food and agriculture traditions. Even if you’ve never had a Breton crepe, you should try one at Breizh Cafe! (And bonus: buckwheat isn’t really wheat; it’s gluten free!)

Firstly you need to book or be prepared to queue . It’s a quaint spot that only does galettes or crepes . There is a variety from savory to sweet and cider or beers or wine to accompany the various kinds . Outside is nice to people watch but inside is cosy too . We had the Nordique with salmon ; goats cheese and salad ; cabbage and polony and cheese and ham galettes . We all shared the caramalised apple with cream . It’s pricey I feel as the fillings are not overly generous . But it is enjoyable .

After a long day of walking the city, we were tired and wanted something light for dinner. Crepes to go were perfect and Breizh has it down - order in a space adjacent to the restaurant and pick it up next door in 5 minutes. To go cartons are sized exactly for the crepes and kept them hot on the short walk back to our apartment. We picked up some rocket in grocery to sprinkle on top and voila! A delicious and inexpensive meal. By the way, eating in the restaurant looked fun too - lively and casual. I would eat here again for sure!

We waited 40min for an over expensive, over rated crêpe, that came cold. Cheese was hard, potatoes were cold, bacon was cold. After 2 bites, I decided to return it. The waiter came back 2 minutes later and said we heated it for you. I touched it, it was still cold. They couldn’t have heated it because there was a salad on top. The waiter takes it to kitchen and comes back saying “the chef doesn’t want to make you a new one. He says you ate it most of it, and it was hot when it came out”. I explained that it arrived cold, and I had 1 bite, then another bite just to make sure, where as the same crêpe that came to the table next to us (10min after they ordered it), had smoke coming out, they almost burned their tongue. He refused to listen and said there’s nothing that can be done. And in fact he did nothing, not even apologizing. We just left, after 1hr, and no food. That was my 2nd time there, bcz the first time we ordered a chocolate crêpe, there was a mere drizzle, almost a joke, for a 10€ Crepe that consists of flour and egg.. probably wouldn’t cost more than 50cents. Never again. This place is a joke.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! we arrived and were told to sit at a dirty table and the waitress told us that the cleaning will take a long time. After a long 20 min wait the table was cleaned and we were given a menu. We ordered finally 30 mins later and another 20 min later we were told that they were out of mushrooms (the main ingredient in their specialty crepe). No apologies were given along with an attitude from the waiter which was extremely unprofessional. We decided to leave and canceled the rest of the order as they did not even start preparing the other items we ordered. Very important yo note that meanwhile 2 tables of 2 were fully served eventhough they were seated a while after us.

Typical Parisianism catches.... Preferring another table than the one "proposed" the man who welcomes tells me to sit down, annoyed, because in any case in a short time we will be crowded everywhere! In fact, there is so little space between the tables (25 cm?) that we can enjoy the neighbors' conversations and, above all, not want to escape, it's mission impossible. The cakes arrive....very quickly, obviously it has to "work", in any case given the conviviality and the way in which we treat customers, we don't want to hang around there. Not only are the pancakes not made to order, impossible because it's the factory, but they are cold... Harvester pancake, I counted 3 grapes and 5 pine nuts. Truthful! The price 17 euros. It is shameful! Considering the papers, the press service is efficient, but journalists should go back there to assess realistically. All the worst of a pretentious establishment which is a real tourist trap and..."Parisians in the spirit of the times"

Worse and worse. I was a fan before. Twice I invited people there and twice it was really not good. The service is very friendly nonetheless, but the pancakes… one day the dough is too soft, one day it is too dry. I do not understand anything. I won't go back there again. Too risky:(

We have been regulars for more than 5 years at this creperie which we really appreciate. But our last visit was a real nightmare. We noticed a new waiter who didn't seem to have worked very hard when he arrived... leaning against the wall of the terrace. However, he brings us our dishes during the meal and we ask him what sauce is in the salad (the menu offers two), his response was lunar: “you just have to smell and you will find”; I was stunned by such a lack of education; in reaction he takes our salads and sticks his big sticky nose in it, telling us “that’s the one”; the very annoyed and very uncomfortable manager spoke with us; what a shame to tarnish a beautiful address with such an awful collaborator.

With the ambient cold, it can be pleasant to dine in the warmth. Don’t choose Breizh Café Marais! A large part of the creperie (back right wing, around 20 seats) must keep the window open to prevent the entire restaurant from being smoked by cooking crepes..... Our neighbor has kept her hat and scarf! We reported this to the server, asking if it was possible to close this window, response negative. An offer of hot drinks to compensate would have been welcome. No, the waiter opted for ''that will give you things to tell your colleagues tomorrow''!! #extraordinary that's done

Very disappointing. Too expensive for a crepe not even accompanied by a small green salad. The wheat pancake was also much overcooked, almost burnt. No commercial/intelligent reaction from the server when I pointed this out to him. This creperie works with tourists who will not return. I'm not a tourist but I won't come back either.

My husband and I recently had dinner here during our week vacation in Paris, visiting from NYC. And our meal at Breizh Cafe Le Marais was definitely the low point. I had the Savoyarde and my husband had the Cancalaise, both of which were decent. The low rating is due to a very unfortunate interaction with a staff member named Clement, an interaction that rendered the meal tasteless. When we came in, Clement was the first person who approached us, and I told him (in French) that we had a reservation for 2 people. He quickly said something in French that I didn't catch, then he grabbed 2 menus, and started walking down the hallway. We used context clues and assumed he was leading us to our table. When he saw that we were following him, he quickly became agitated and started scolding us in French. My French is limited, and given that the interaction had now become charged, I started using English and told him that "I don't understand". He then switched to English as well and told us to wait at the entrance and he would get back to us. While that interaction was brief, it completely ruined our experience at Breizh Cafe. Us American tourists are wary of the stereotype of French people being rude and treating English-speakers with disdain. And I'm happy to say that our week in Paris has disabused me of that notion, as all of the French people we interacted with were very patient and welcoming of us. All except Clement at Breizh Cafe. I believe it's people like Clement and interactions like ours that create the aforementioned negative stereotypes about French people. During our meal, I pointed out to Clement that he had been rude to us earlier, and we felt he owed us an apology. Which he gave, with the excuse that he was just very busy. While I accepted his apology, I still don't believe there's ever an excuse for disrespecting customers. While our experience at Breizh Cafe was unfortunate, the bright side is it made us appreciate the great service and the basic respect we were given at all other establishments during our week in Paris. Given the vulnerability of going to a foreign country and not being completely fluent in the spoken language, being treated with respect is essential, and shouldn't be too much to ask.

We recently had lunch here to sample their crepes, which were delicious. However, the service really left something to be desired. The waitresses seemed reluctant to help us, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere and appearing to be a nuisance. The table arrangement was quite tight, making it difficult to have private conversations. In short, a recommendable place for pancake lovers, but improving the service would be greatly appreciated.

This restaurant has a large, somewhat intimidating menu with A LOT of options. We were a large table so they couldn’t bring all of our meals out at once, which I understand, but all but 2 of us were served and it took another 10-15 to get our meals. The waitress was extremely brisk and rude and even got into an argument with our french speaking guide.

If you intend to go there, I strongly recommend booking a reservation as walk-ins will be treated as second-class citizens, with poor seating and abysmal service. Clearly understaffed, Breizh suffers from the « marais syndrome » , where restaurants believe they can counter mediocre food and poor service with location and expensive « organic » and « fair trade » ingredients or beverages. which are only Breton by name. Thus, its overhyped reputation guarantees any experience there to be a huge let-down. Breizh is nothing more than an expensive subpar crêperie with painfully long waiting times in a trendy location. If you truly want to eat Breton, go to Britanny, not Breizh.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit this ’restaurant’. There is no common hygiene, we found several hairs and a living snail in our food, as the picture shows. When notifying the staff, the matter wasn’t taken seriously. The chef and the waiter simply laughed. It was a horrible experience - beneath all criticism. They could at least have offered the plate for free - I didn’t want a second one, since the first one literally made me throw up.

Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
