We did this for our 20th anniversary. I was worried it would be touristy and cheesy with bad food. I was so wrong. We chose the less expensive meal option and it was by far the best meal we had in Paris. The views were magical and the overall experience was fantastic. The the service, while prompt was certainly not... More

Myself and my wife celebrated our wedding anniversary with a dinner cruise and it was fantastic. The food and service was excellent, would definitely recommend, not cheap but it is Paris. Would say go for the cheaper menu, it was lovely and the wine list is superb. Next time in Paris I will be back.

Book this cruise if you are coming to Paris. You won't regret it. It was an experience I will soon not forget. The food was better than I thought it would be- every dish was quite good, and the service was on point. The experience of cruising the Seine and seeing the sights of Paris while having a great dining... More

There is simply nothing to fault with the Bateau Calife. The setting, service, food and wine were all perfect. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to escape the kitschy tourist scene and experience something worth the money spent.

My family and I had dinner on Le Calife on a perfectly beautiful evening in August. Nothing about the boat itself or the food could be faulted - it was all perfect. It would have been nice if there were some explanation of the sites we were passing - not necessarily a running commentary as the subtle jazz music was... More

This is a must for everyone who likes quality !!! It's not the huge tacky well advertised boats that you see. The boat is pure quality and the service from being greeted to leaving is perfect with excellent hood and wonderful staff !! You made my wife's 50th and you deserve the 5 stars the food as I said was... More

My husand and I were visiting Paris for our 10 year wedding anniversary and we wanted to celebrate on the day itself with something unique...we found Bateau Calife. The dinner cruise was perfect from beginning to end. The cruise was excellent, seeing all the sights along the Seine and we got to the Eiffel Tower just as it was lit... More

Ever been to Commander's Palace in New Orleans? Le Calife gets the same rating. Service is excellent. Great wine list which is reasonably priced. Try the 2011 St. Emilion (the 07 is a disappointment and the wine steward will agree). Don't go for the lower priced dinner of the two presentations. Splurge. Well worth the price and when all is... On a recommendation from a family we happened to meet a few weeks earlier, my wife and I booked a cruise for our anniversary. We liked the idea of a smaller more rustic boat and were told the food was delicious. We were not disappointed! It was a great evening to see Paris from the water and the food was... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
