We loved everything about this place - the ambiance, the food (made to order), and the service. Definitely 5 stars. Will come back again when in Paris.

Wow, we lucked on this restaurant wandering the streets near the Latin Quarter. A table was just leaving so luckily for us they were able to accommodate our family of four at 9:00 at night. We loved everything! Appetizers were creative & beyond the typical tourist menu. Highly recommend!

We return to Bistrot L'Estrapade each time we are in Paris because it is cozy, welcoming, and very satisfying. What is amazing? Escargots in a rich butter and herb sauce, Magret de Canard, Medallions de langue de boeuf confit, Poulet facon cordon bleu, sauce fois gras! Delightful desserts: Moelleux au chocolat and Brioche Perdue et Chantilly. After dessert, we had... More

We're probably getting lazy. On a recent trip to Paris we had eight of ten dinners at restaurants to which we could walk from our hotel on the rue Jacob in the Sixth . L'estrapade in the Fifth was one of them and one of the best. The restaurant is small even by French bistrot standards with approximately a dozen... More

It is a very small private restaurant with a very friendly service, perfect atmosphere and 100% handmade dishes for a very good price. If you want to spend a cosy and tasty dinner reserve at L'Estrapade.

I really wanted to Love this place, I really did. It is a petite little bistro, worked front and back by a young couple, who obviously put their heart and soul into it each evening. It's has that wonderful little French bistros feel that every touristblike me and my husband and son are looking for. Unfortunately, what was a wonderful... More

This is a great little restaurant in the heart of the Latin Quarter. I've been just once but plan to return. It's classic fare with a bit of an elegant twist. My gigot d'agneau was perfect.

This is a very small restaurant with tables next to each other's. The nice lone waitress has to negotiate the obstacle course between tables and kitchen. Our appetizer of snails quite good. Unfortunately the duck that followed was for me the worse I was ever served ,pretty tasteless accompanied by non descript overcooked vegetables. My guest had scallops with a... More

delightful small restaurant short walk from Place de la Contrescarpe. Poached pear entree was exceptional - everything was very good. Reservations definitely recommended for this very small restaurant.

This tiny restaurant is very uncomfortable - tiny tables, no finesse, just noisy and cramped. The menu is very restricted and nobody in our party enjoyed our meal - we all thought it was pre-cooked and reheated. This was not helped by the very surly and unwelcoming waiter who could not cope, being the sole server. We do not recommend... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
