My family had eaten here before so l was confident booking it for dinner last Saturday night.... it was so disappointing. The mushroom and egg starter my partner had was awful it was cold ... when he gave it back untouched the did offer another...one but that wasnt the point..... We ordered a red wine we prefer room temperature but again it was a take it or leave it attitude. It was a birthday celebration so we tried to make the best of it. I had duck which was pink as l like it but so so tough. My partner had the fish he asked for black pepper but it never arrived. I think what disappointed me most was when we complained we were told it had been taken over 6 months ago and was closing in a while for renovations.... l must say this attitude showed in the quality of the food and the way we were treated. To be fair the hostess apologised that we hadn't enjoyed our night and that was the only decent customer service we received. The location is amazing and given the cost of the food and wine and food you would expect much better....as it was before .... I would not advise anyone to est here until something changesMore

We booked a table for three for dinner. The taxi driver seems to take a complicated route but had no difficulty at reaching the destination. The restaurant was set behind and on the 5th floor. We were received very well, our coats were taken and...took us to our table. The waiter, Mitri he called himself, was pleasant and very help[ful Knowing we are from Liverpool he sais he was a Man U fan- this didn;t go well !!. I had red mullet for starters and others had crab meat and pate. There were excellent. Had steak as main which was perfectly cooked and delicious. The wine and desserts for pretty good too. It was expensive, but to be expected in the heart of Paris with such location and qual;ity of foodMore

🚨🚨🚨DO NOT ATTEND We arrived at 9pm, were seated for 20minutes before we were acknowledged. Then ordered 10minutes later. We asked for bread 3 times and it was rock hard when it eventually came. All their bread is rock hard and stale, the food took...1hr15mins to come and we both ordered fish. The food was disgusting, the carpet was stained, the lighting is non existent because they dont want you to see the truth. The view of the eiffel tower isn’t even worth it. Service was terrible. Save yourselves the worst night of dining and go somewhere else.More

The best thing about this restaurant is the view, which you presumably could enjoy with just a glass of wine. Forget the rest of it. I had lunch there; the starter I can hardly remember - it had some fancy name but the taste was...anything but. For the main course I had fish, rather tasteless with bland accompanying vegetables. The best part of the lunch was the so-called poire belle helene, actually only good in comparison with the rest of the shabby meal. You can get a much better poire belle helene elsewhere. Just forget this restaurant and spend your money elsewhere. And a lote of money it is for such poor cooking.More

The weather was dreadful so we arrived early. Fair enough, the table was not ready. Did they have a bar to wait in? No. Could they provide a drink while we waited? No. Could they do anything to improve the wait? No. Could they keep...us sitting in reception like plants? Yes! Very poor service before we had even sat down.More

The view over the roofs of Paris, the Eiffel Tower that first impression is great The food then is very good : the scallops the beef the desserts ... Why only 4 stars then ? Because of the lack of staff they do what they...can but at lunch time with a 3/4 tables taken it’s already touchy ! They run everywhere ask again and again what your choices were ...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Les Ombres. We had a noon reservation which allowed us to be seated right by the window. The view is spectacular! The food was good and service was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.

A passer by watches as a taxi screeches around the corner. I imagine him shouting “Queek! Somebodee stop ze taxi” as sitcoms broadcast by the BBC in 1980s had taught me, in a crisis French people speak very slowly in broken English. It will come...as a shock to learn that I write this from inside the boot of that same taxi. Unless I am very much mistaken I have been kidnapped and in peril. Using the torch on my iPhone 8 I am able to take in my surroundings. Within reaching distance I can make out some local confectionary and a copy of Captain Phillips on DVD. On a side note, Captain Phillips is truly gripping throughout, with Hanks at his very best. I would argue that my current situation is just as terrifying. I am here by no accident. Having failed to cough up the required cash for my taxi to Les Ombres, I was abducted. No sooner did the taxi driver find out he was short changed, did I find myself locked in his boot. Overreaction or not, I was trapped and needed to get out. Both Hollywood and (admittedly fewer) Bollywood movies had taught me that escaping a boot was not only possible, but also rather simple. By applying force to the rear lights you are able to create a gap large enough for a normal sized arm and unlock the boot. I do just this. ‘Voila!’ I whisper as the trunk opens. Unfortunately this Bond-esque quip (Moore, not Craig) was not appreciated but I had greater worries afoot. I hopped out the boot and ran. I ran and ran and ran. Tears streaming down my face. This was actually due to my recollection of the final scenes of Captain Phillips, again, highly recommend. After a few hours my GPS told me that I was outside Les Ombres. However, all I could see was a walled garden in front of me. I smirked to myself, ‘this night keeps getting more and more interesting’ I thought. This was not just a foliage covered path to a restaurant, this was like nothing I had ever seen before. It was a garden; a garden of my stolen dreams and those dreams of which have not yet been taken from me. During this walk I relived happy memories, memories that are best left in the past and prophecies of what may yet still come to pass. After what seemed like eternity I arrived at the entrance. The food was fantastic, staff friendly and view of Tour d’Eiffel only added to the occasion. 5*More

We were served rotting salad leaves with cheese. When we questioned the manager Nicholas he said this was caused by the vinaigrette! It was slimy green leaves not fit for a rabbit. Nicholas is either stupid or doesn’t care. A very second rate place for...dinner. Look at the view and not at the food!More
