I got the set menu (only about 19 euros) and was very satisfied with my food. I had the French onion soup, the cassoulet, and creme caramel. The dessert wasn't really anything to write home about, but the soup was lovely and the cassoulet was divine. The interior decor is a bit shabby and but charmingly weird. The server was... More

One of the problems you are faced with when visiting Montmartre is selecting a good restaurant as most of the places are commercial. Le Poulbot was a hidden gem. We had the 19.95 menus. The onion soup was Ok but the Confit de Canard was to die for. The best Confit de Canard I have ever had!

As a French, I feel ashamed for what is served in this place, especially to tourists who think it's French cuisine. Every dish is microwaved. The front of the restaurant is decorated on purpose to make you think it is authentic but you'll be ripped off a soon as you order something there. Buy a sanwish instead somewhere else, you'll... Was here in 2012 and the dishes were great. Four years after seems that everything changed: the food is less than average, the interiors are really old and shabby. We have taken the Formules with wine Bordeaux. The wine was awful. The couple near to us even asked to change it, because they couldn't make a gulp. The level of... More

This is a very good option in the area and not touristy at all. Service was excellent and the waiter was very helpful and polite. The food was delicious and at very reasonable prices. Only negative is that it looks and is very old. The sofas and tables have worn out a bit.

We decided to have dinner in Montmarte and wanted to bypass the more tourist restaurants. We were charmed by the exterior and we're even more charmed on entering this restaurant. The ambience and value for money were one thing, but of more note was the delicious food and gracious and welcoming server. The Salmon starter was delicious, but the Confit... More

It is very easy to get ripped off with poor quality food at inflated prices in this area. Le Poulbot serves a very straightforward menu of traditional French favourites at reasonable prices. We have visited several times over the last decade or so and found it utterly reliable.

Wandered in on a chilly day to a lovely and friendly atmosphere and wonderful beef bourguignon. Was the perfect place for lunch.

Great dinner spot a few yards from Sacre Coeur. The right balance of every element for a great dinner, business or leisure. In my comeback list.

One of my favourite restaurant when in Paris. Go for the set formule (set meal) which is €19.50. The escargot is good to start with, follow by the confit du canard (duck confit).

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
