I will definitely go back. It was my first restaurant experience in Paris and was recommended by the Purser on our flight from Dallas. I would recommend the Pate, it was fabulous! I had the recommended fresh fish and it melted in my mouth. Not sure of the fish name or translation but who cares! Why not take the owners... More

This delightful little restaurant in the 14th arrondissement sits a little off of Maine. It is wonderfully decorated with antique signs and symbols of the past including in the window a beautiful model of the Mauritania. Once inside you'll be offered a menu and you can have it in english if you prefer. The owner is a hands on manager... More

It's rare when a restaurant offers value along with great food, excellent service and cozy atmosphere. This small place delivers. Our party of 11 had the boeuf, filet de plie, rabbit and salmon and everything was delicious. Portions are very large for France!

The best place to eat in Paris! I loved everything from the staff, the food and the charming restaurant space. The price was amazing too! I dont recommend the cheesecake if you are american, take the chocolate cake instead! 3 course meal for a very nice price in Paris!

This is one of the most marvellous restaurants I've been in Paris, Its cosy, the food is great, generous quantities and great quality. Home made food, the pate is wonderful, and a delicious tartare stake. The deserts are just wonderful. The ambiance is a bit noisy, but is accordingly to the type of restaurante. I strongly recommend.

Walked in without reservation. Cosy place though a bit tight. Had the beef casserole for mains. Very nice and tasty. Would definitely come back again. Friendly service and speaks English. Though I'd say locals are the usual customers.

This place is brimming with charm and character: the walls are covered in memorabilia and ephemera of France and French events spanning several decades, and the whole place brings an almost quintessential, charming French restaurant to mind. We both had the fixed menu, and while our starters of cold meats were fairly run of the mill, the main courses were... More

From the very beginning we were made welcome and comfortable. The 10+ table rustic atmosphere was perfect for both locals and the few tourists who found our there way here. We had an assortment of dishes that were all very good - the portion sizes were large ... but the bill was not. VERY traditional - so if this is... More

Like other reviewers have commented, dining at Le Petit Baigneur felt like what it must have been like in a Paris restaurant 50 years ago. The food was good but not great (my entrecote was fatty), with the exception of the citron and cassis sorbet which was superb. The portions are large enough that I ran out of appetite with... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
