I don't usually write about bad restaurants, but this was so pretentious, over-priced and poor that I feel obliged to denounce. Colleagues dragged me there as it was near their hotel. There is an option menu, which I took, but then found the choice was limited to either one fish or one meat dish. I went for fish as factory... More

Waited 30 minutes for a bottled drink, and 20 for the bill! Staff were very un attentive, no sense of urgency and at tines ignorant. May be better when eating but our experience was poor

Disinterested waiter but not a problem as only stopped for a drink. Seemed to be very interested if people were ordering food. Not the best but not the worst either.

I had dinner at this lovely restaurant a few night ago. Lovely place and various places from outside - to down-stairs between the barrels of the wine! There is also a bar for those who just wants a drink inside. The menu is in French - but upon request, an English menu is available. The wine-list is great - but... More

I had not dined at Chai 33 in years. Being back in Paris meant I could finally get to enjoy an nice meal in this (previously) great place. But, how disappointing it was. On arrival, it appeared that the place had gone from previously smart to now being just another tourist shack. Quite crowded with all sorts of people not... More

We were a group of 4. Fancy crowded place where you see at once people come to socialize and don't care about eating. Waited 55 min. for our orders, after having rejected 3-4 times dishes destined to other tables! I wonder how is this place is organized : empty-handed waiters are running all the place around acting busy... They also... More

Unique place to have nice dinner. Good and inexpensive wine selection. Decent fusion food with a bit of Thai and Japanese influence. I have to admit that the ambience was the highlight, more than the food. Nearby restaurants were also packed when we were there. It was clearly a hangout place for locals.

An excellent restaurant in Paris. This area used to be the place wine was brought in Paris from all the wine producers in France. The last alley that survived this area is "cour Saint Emilion." All the restaurants and stores are built in the old caves that used to keep this wine. Chai33 is an excellent restaurant, where you can... More

The restaurant Chai 33 in Paris is near the Bercy Park. It is a warm and welcoming place which specialise in wine tasting. You can choose to dine in the lower part of the restaurant - the Petit Chai, surrounded by barrels of wine. They serve the speciality dishes from the main restaurant here, along with basic meals with a drink included from 11 Euros. Wine lovers can choose from a vast and reasonable priced selection to be tasted with your meal or to be bought to take home at wholesale prices. Huge shelves are filled with colour coded bottles of wine, so choice is definitely not an issue!
